Why do you think steem might win over Facebook or anyother social network app that currently available on the open web? What would drive the average consumer to use a PAID service if there is a free service that  already exist.

Facebook is already a whale, a god in terms of social media. Steem is just a fingerling. Facebook has been acquiring more assets in terms of online business. There is no possibility for now that Steem will be able to take the top spot from facebook.

How could steam defeat facebook? while facebook is used by billions of users globally and the users of it consist of crypto and other offline business users and it gets billions or shall we say trillions of dollars revenue for their running and I don't think steam owner does that. And thats the reason why I don't think steam is much better than facebook since the only good thing happening on steam is there upvote features.

Steem it's blockchain based system like Bitcoin and doesn't have owners.
Bitcoin use mining for new coin distribution - Steem use blogging, in Steem - blogging it's a mining.

The real competitor to steem and steemit is Yours.org. Steemit pays with it's own currency (steem), whereas yours pays with litecoin and bitcoin. And Yours requires you to purchase some coins first before you can tip etc, whereas steem simply allocates money from the next 24 hours in the blockchain.

I've noticed the founder of Yours getting a lot of publicity on shows like letstalkbitcoin, but it remains to be seen whether they can make a tipping platform work (it's been tried before and has failed). The genius of Steemit is that when you are upvoting you arn't giving your own money, just allocating from a common pool on the blockchain.

Steem has his niche and is growing fast, at least you get an incentive to produce great content on the platform. Facebook keeps all the money and you receive nothing for the hours you spend reading, comment, and share!

Both will coexist, but I predict Facebook to decline in number in users!

opportunity will let people to choose what platform they will use and the big advantage of facebook you can do everything inside unlike steem that the only way

Just as usual. These kind of fantasy assumptions cant really be avoided on this cryptoworld and fuds and shills would really be read anywhere on this forum just to hype it out. You are right, its really impossible for any altcoin based projects would surpassed any big business outside.Talking about facebook its big and wont easily flop and been surpassed by some new project on the air.
