Interested to see someone trying something different in this space. I have significant concerns about the suitability of distributed computing for AI calculations, however. The field is dominated by custom hardware; Google uses Tensor Processing Units (TPU's) in their machine learning, while Microsoft has invested significantly in FPGA's. As computing power needs scale up, it is more likely that the needs will be efficiently met by an ASIC, not a cloud resource.

BUT - that's for production. A market definitely exists for resources that can be utilized for development, and I'd love to chip in and help develop our robot overlor...err, assistants. Smiley

Reply here with your computer/phone OS version + browser to mine, also let us know what you think of Hadron!  Alpha miners will keep all coins earned. Basic computer details like CPU, RAM, GPU are helpful.

I've got an Android phone (4GB RAM) and a Macbook Pro (2.6 GHz Intel Core i5, 8 GB 1600 MHz DDR3).  Favorite browser is Chrome.

In addition to my previous application for alpha testing/air drop (#718 in this thread) I have two suggestions.

Number one: charity
Donate the computing power for one day a month to a good cause. Even if this would cost you 3% revenue (which I'm sure your profit margin will cover), it will buy you so much more in goodwill and word-of-mouth.

This means that instead of as you say today, "POTENTIALLY, some of these computations CAN benefit all of humankind...", you can say "Some of these computations DO benefit all of humankind".

The charitable cause can shift from month to month or from quarter to quarter - the latter might be better as the first run can prepare the data for an even better second and third run. Cancer research, protein folding, human genome sequencing, SETI, you name it. Not only is this the right thing to do, it's the smart thing to do. All the things you do for charity will be written about in papers and whole new markets will hear about you and see the results of the raw global computing power you can offer. Additionally, people who are undecided on what coin to mine might get the push they need to choose Hadron over others since it's for the good of humanity.

If this turns out to be a success, consider increasing the charity days to twice a month. Philanthropy is powerful stuff.

Number two: Consoles
Don't forget video game consoles. Both Xbox & Playstation have plenty of crunching power, even Wii U has some to offer. And let's face it, most consoles spend the majority of the time turned off when they could do some good. Partner up with Sony, Microsoft and Nintendo's built-in online stores and the potential is gigantic - free games for the users, more revenue for both the publishers and for you, and more power for the Hadron network. And every connected console gamer in the world will know your name.

These two in combination has the potential to change Hadron's future - hell, it has the potential to change everyone's future!

At some point you will need to engage those who don't do Facebook, Twitter, Reddit, etc., but still have internet devices.

I've now communicated with seven people about the concept and technology of Hadron.  four of those contacts were by phone or face-to-face.  Old people prefer this mode of communication when possible.
