It's still 2017, so shouldn't the question be, which 5 cryptocurrencies should you invest in 2017?  2018 is still months away and things change in a matter of days in the crypto world.  For this year, there are a lot of good projects.  I really like Waves and the team.  They are doing great things in the development and marketing department.

Among those you named for long-term investment, I do not see bitcoin, which is definitely suitable for long-term investment. From altkoinov I would suggest Waves, NEO. These are quite promising coins.

I think DAY is a token that will be created by Timemints which are sold by ChronoLogic. All have been sold in their ICO I believe.

but if you are trying good coin on current crypto pump you will probably be burnet by then.
In bull all is reasing and all is easy to hype even skams.
You need wait for year of bearmarket to invest some money in unicorns .
Today this is not time to invest imo.
Today we gamle with altcoins.
Some ICOs will be good imo.

Going for a unicorn is high risk high reward. There are several other threads asking the next coin that will go 100x. I would do some research into those threads and pick a low marketplace coin that seems to have potential. Other coins in the top 10 can still get you good returns though if your patient enough to hold.

In trading thru market capitalization my point of view are at Bitcoin, Ethereum, Litecoin, Dodgecoin and Bytecoin because they are looks promising in their marketing trend. But still you should review it well or do some more research thru this forum or google to satisfy your needs for the strategy and goals.
