I think it makes no sense to go to such exchanges as tradeogre.com, small volumes, it only hurts, it's better to collect coins and get out on Cryptopia
they collected half a year 0.2 bitcoin, what Cryptopia
one and a half people is not power, advertising and spam is power

Thoughts don't pay the bills but BTC does.

Hi - i am the half person here.

You might be right, but they aren't the only sources of power.  We could do other things.

I'll go back into my half apartment now.

See the examples in the documentation shipped with the Claymore miner (it's called Readme!!!.txt for a good reason). The Claymore format has changed since a long time. I don't know why pools are still using those deprecated old style commands on their getting started pages.

Hint:

Good point !
I think it's because most of pool dev (like me) do not use such soft, I will change this with up-to-date instructions.

I think it's because most of pool dev (like me) do not use such soft, I will change this with up-to-date instructions.

Then here is the correction for your pool:

Old:
NsGpuCNMiner -o stratum+tcp://irdpool.fr:3333 -u YOUR_WALLET_ADDRESS -p x

New:
NsGpuCNMiner -xpool stratum+ssl://irdpool.fr:5566 -xwal YOUR_WALLET_ADDRESS -xpsw x -allpools 1

Of course anyone serious will create a start_irdpool_fr.bat file with the following content:
set GPU_FORCE_64BIT_PTR=1
set GPU_MAX_HEAP_SIZE=100
set GPU_USE_SYNC_OBJECTS=1
set GPU_MAX_ALLOC_PERCENT=100
set GPU_SINGLE_ALLOC_PERCENT=100
NsGpuCNMiner.exe config_irdpool_fr.txt

Yes, set not setx.

And include the necessary command lines into the cfg file like this:
-xpool stratum+ssl://irdpool.fr:5566
-xwal YOUR_WALLET_ADDRESS
-xpsw x
-allpools 1

I used ssl because there is no point in not using it with Claymore since fees are lower. And I guess there is no GPU out there weak enough to require a share diff of 500, hence port 5566.

I don't understand this fear of asic : it's the same difference with cpu/gpu. Why, if I make IRD asic proof, I do not have to make it gpu proof ? it will be fair too. Personally I do not have any rig, nor a correct GPU for mining.

One more time, IRD emission do not care about hashrate attacks due to the difficulty algorithm implemented in V2. monero or electroneum do not have this (yet). So, asic owner will earn the same IRD amount as one with 10 Vega but I want to see an asic proof of work first : cryptonight use huge memory to be computed.

From what I see, people think of their interest first, but not the interest of community.
I think we have to understand all the parameters before making a decision.

It's always the same game : buying/selling...

The ASIC thing and possible POW change is a delicate issue with huge implications. I don't own or use any ASICs for mining, so I am not a fan at all. But I also have no negative sentiments against people or coins using ASICs and against progress in general.

On the short term it is much more important to see the real implications and leave the ideological ones for later.

For instance: Will the developers of mining software still maintain the CryptoNightV1 in their coming versions of the software, or will it be dropped and only CryptoNightV2 be included? If the latter, then IRD miners will be stuck with old versions of the miner forever. Since Claymore et al won't improve or maintain an algorithm which isn't used anymore by any major coin. And of course, software aside, current IRD miners (with CPUs/GPUs) would be completely wiped out by anyone with access to just a couple of those 200kH/s ASICs. The blockchain and coin issuance certainly won't care because IRD has probably the best difficulty adjustment algorithm now, but remaining on CryptoNightV1 will mean a huge extinction event in the base of miners. It's not something that will happen gradually, but over night. Which means a huge impact on the general user base, which for young coins is always dominated by people who mine.

I am sure there are many more arguments pro and contra a change to CryptoNightV2. I think it should be discussed, because the first CryptoNight ASICs will ship soon.
The Baikal one (probably FPGA, not ASIC) is weak in terms of hashing power and a few units of that one won't make a dent. But once those >200kH/s monsters are being shipped, we should know which path we want to go.

Well put, @nanona, except I think it might be too late for IRD. Other CN coins are also taking a "wait-and-see" approach (DERO and ITNS, for two examples) but IRD is in a much more precarious place with just ~500kH/s on its entire network; if a single Bitmain X10 with 220kH/s decides to mine IRD it will basically increase network hashrate by 50%!

Ironically, there would have been some defense against ASICs by not getting listed on an exchange, as ASIC miners tend to be relentless and implacable sellers of whatever they mine so any coin not on an exchange would likely be avoided by them, but of course that obstacle has just been removed.

Considering that IRD doesn't have a special use case (unlike, say, DERO or ITNS), the original dev abandoned it months ago and the new devs don't seem to care whether ASICs crash their party or not I suspect grim days are ahead for this coin. I, for one, have stopped mining it, and though I am in no hurry to sell my IRD, neither am I interested in acquiring more.

My exchange checklist.

Odd domain name: Check.
Whois protection enabled: Check.
Unprofessional design: Check.
Amateurish or nonexistent terms: Check
Domain just recently registered: Check.
Domain registered for 1 year only: Check.
Difficult to contact support of the owner: Check.

It doesn't directly mean this exchange has intentions to scam, but even if this exchange is being operated as fun/hobby 'project', it's not worth using it because of the potential risks you expose yourself to.

Also, not a scam right now doesn't mean it won't be later.
Tpи дня нe зaxoдил нa биpжy, и вce cpeдcтвa c cчeтa yшли в нeизвecтнoм нaпpaвлeнии.
И этo пpи тoм чтo aккayнт зaщищeн 2FA ...
B oбщeм этo лoxoтpoн, a нe биpжa.

Three days did not go to the stock exchange, and all funds from the account went to an unknown direction.
And this despite the fact that the account is protected by 2FA ...
In general, it's a scam, not a stock exchange.
get ready to lose your IRD
