Iridium [IRI] Technical DetailsSpecifications - 42 million coins in total
- 2 minute average block time
- 100 coins per block
- Block reward halves Every 110,000 Blocks
- Retargets difficulty using DarkGravityWave
- X11 Proof-of-Work algorithm
- Port numbers
The following port numbers are used by Iridium. - P2P uses port 9816
- RPC uses port 9817
Message start stringThe message start string used by Iridium is: AWESOME FEATURESIridium is a decentrilized peer to peer digital currency based on blockchain technology. Use Iridium to secure send and recieve instant transfers of value from anywhere in the world. FAST TRANSACTIONSOther Currencies take very long to confirm transactions. Iridium Transactions are confirmed in seconds. SECUREIridium is Very secure, You have total control over your funds. Iridium operates with no central authority and Transactions are carried out collectively by the network. PRIVATEIridium is like cash, You have total control of your fund at all times. There is no bank or central authority controlling your funds. OPEN SOURCEIridium is an open source project, You can modify copy or distribute the software as you like or become a contributor and help the network grow.Check and contribute to the project on GITHUB. THE BLOCKCHAINThe Iridium blockchain confirms transaction faster than most coins, Blocks are generated every 120 seconds which means transaction are confirmed faster and at the same time handling higher transaction volumes. FAIR & TRANSPARENTIridium was made with Everyone in mind. 50% of the coin supply was pre-mine to be distributed via the BlockWallet app with the goal of helping non-tech savvy individuals learn how Cryptocurrencies work. ABOUT IRIDIUMIridium was created with one simple goal, Which is to allow everyone (Mom, Dad, and the non-tech savvy Individuals) to have an opportunity to use cryptocurrencies and to have an opportunity to learn, teach and share this new amazing technology with others.
NOTE: A new Thread will be Posted Explaining how the BlockWallet Works. Please Allow some time for me to address all issues and questions. in the meantime go to https://theblockwallet.com and read about it there. FARE & TRANSPARENT[/b] Iridium is not a get rich quick coin or token. There is no investment needed to get started with iridium, Just the willingness to teach others about the network. Iridium wants to contributed to the adoption of Cryptos around the world and the Pre-mine was done with everyone in mind, Specially people that have no idea how cryptos work. Iridium has a total supply of 42 Million Total Coins Available and 50% of the coins are Pre-mine to be re-mined via the BlockWalletApp. All coins will be distributed to the public and there will be no Founder Rewards."We can mine just like anyone else". The right measures have been taken so everyone knows how manny coins are distributed from the app. This is an idea to bring more people to cryptocurrencies, help with its adoption and and motivate people to teach others about the Blockchain technology. WHY 50% Pre-mine ?Iridium was born with the idea that most of the General Public are not tech Savvy and have no knowledge how to mine Cryptocurrencies or how they really work. With this idea in mind the goal is to have peers invite other peers and teach them how to use a wallet, and how cryptocurrencies work etc... This will create a more engaging experience for new users on how the blockchain works and how cryptocurrencies are traded. We have designed a Re-mining (Invite) System for users to mine these coins from the Block wallet app. NOTE ***All Pre-mined coins will be distributed to the public. It is enough being part of first miners. Use this link to check all transaction on the distribution of the coins. You can Download PDF, Excel, CSV, record of the transaction History for your records at any moment.
https://www.coin.iridium.cash/ MINING FROM THE BLOCKWALLET APP- Download the Blockwallet app from Google play
- "Create a New Wallet" If you were referred by someone make sure you click the "Use Mining code" box and enter your referral mining code.
- " The Mining code" This code will Reward both The Referrer & the New User with 10.00 IRI. each.
- After creating a new Wallet you will be Assigned a " Mining code" automatically by the system.
- To find your mining code go to your "Profile" and copy the "mining code", Share it with others & happy mining.
QUESTIONS- Can I Create more than one wallet and still get rewarded?
- NO, Once you use your device to create a Wallet and claim a referral code, You will no longer be able to claim more codes. You can only claim a mining code Once. This code is for new users only. The app will allow to create Unlimited wallets but you can only be rewarded once.
- How do i keep mining IRIDIUM (IRI) After Creating a wallet?
- Once you have successfully created a wallet, you will have your own mining code. this code can be found in you "PROFILE" Tab, Just share the "mining Code" with others and every time a new user sings up using your code you will Get 10.00 IRI.

Every time a block is mined, a certain amount of BTC (called the
subsidy) is created out of thin air and given to the miner. The
subsidy halves every four years and will reach 0 in about 130 years.

That's a coincidence, I launched a coin called Iridium yesterday, and you launched one called Iridium the next? Ticker for this coin is: IRI, Ticker for my coin is: IRD, don't get them confused, thanks.

How will you distribute premined coins to users dev???
All Pre-mine coins will be Distributed via the BlockWallet app. The idea is to have peers invite other peers to use IRIDIUM. Each user is assigned code at sign up. this code i named it a "MINING CODE". When user A invites user B they both get 10.00 (IRI). the idea is to bring more people to cryptocurrencies Specially users that want to use cryptos but don't know how to get started. I am Use the "word of mouth power" to increase awareness. There is a tracker on the app home screen that shows all the coins that have been distributed. Thanks All

So only smartphone users will be able to get a share of the airdrop? That's bullshit and too easy to game (very easy to create thousands of android emulator instances for example). IMO a traditional giveaway would be far more fair, e.g. users with a Bitcointalk account that is older than a week could simply PM you their wallet address and you could give higher ranked members more coins than newbies/double accounts.

We thought of the scammers and emulators. DON'T WORRY THE APP is ready to handle the them. PS: WE DO NOT distribute the coins manually. Coins are distributed by the wallet automatically. If you have an idea on how to make it better and safer please bring it. Thanks for the feedback tho. ALL

If you have an idea on how to make it better and safer please bring it.
Don't just focus on smartphone users, add the invite functionality into the standard wallet as well or think of a distribution way that does not lock out potential users. My smartphone just broke for example, although that's a non-issue since it will take quite some time until 2.1 million users have been invited (unless I am right with my suspicion about the system being easy to cheat). However there are many potential users without smartphones who can't participate in the airdrop and I'm still not convinced that the system can't be cheated. MAC/IP addresses and emulated hardware can easily be changed, not to mention Google accounts. 50% premine is huge and a fair airdrop everyone can participate in, aswell as being transparent about where how many coins went is crucial. Telling us how many coins were distributed is not enough at all, who can tell us that you don't keep e.g. 20%? A website with premine distributon status should be minimum, don't hide these (far too incomplete) stats in the app. Every other distribution method, even a shitty giveaway per mail address or bitcointalk user would be more transparent, less easy to game and fair to everyone. Also two typos in OP: " Fare & transparent" should be " Fair & transparent". 300 coins?! That's ridiculous, three full blocks... Will you pay out smaller miners with less than 300 coins or do you just keep their coins? Also why would you hide the payments site and how can/why can't users check how many coins they mined so far? This smells like a scam.

I am still not sure how this gonna work. Do we need to download two wallets? One for the actual computer and sync it and then the android wallet to invite people? How the system is going to keep a track of the referrals and also what is the reward for referrals? I understand that you are promoting this coin to bring Crypto awarness among people but then what's the real life use of this coin? After we get this coins what's next?Do we just sell them at exchange? What's the future?

It says It says failed to connect to 127.0.0.1 port 9817
Hello, 1.Please make sure that your wallet is fully synced. 2. Make sure the Iridium.conf is in the folder /%appdata%/roaming/iridium 3. When you open the x11 miner folder click on the (miner) How to open the /%appdata%/roaming/iridium1-Go to start in windows. 2- In the search box type %appdata% and the roaming folder will come up. 3. click on the folder and then click in the iridium folder. 4. paste the Iridium.conf in the iridium folder. The open the miner and make sure wallet is running. Your CPU should start Mining after these steps. you arent explaining how you want the conf file configured,.,., where are the nodes? you want us to make a blank conf file? I added this to my file and wont connect to RPC port 9817. I have it open on my firewall. You need to be more clear on how to solo mine your coin rpcuser= rpcpassword= rpcallowip=127.0.0.1 rpcport= server=1 daemon=1 listen=1 Thanks for the reply. When you unzip the CPU Miner the Iridium.conf has all the information configured. But here are the details of the iridium.conf File. rpcuser=user rpcpassword=E0rE2plxn4UBh5t rpcport=9817 port=9816 #(0=off, 1=on) daemon - run in the background as a daemon and accept commands daemon=1 #(0=off, 1=on) server - accept command line and JSON-RPC commands server=1 rpcallowip=127.0.0.1 Please let me know if you were able to connect Thanks All I wouldnt use the miners he has on the zippy site, full of spyware.. i didnt get false alert, got real alert. I will be using my own miners that dont have viruses or spyware on them but even with conf configured the way you want us to still cant solo mine.. fyi, sgminer is not for nvidia and thats the gpu miner set for download you need to post your .bat file so we can see how you have your solo mining configured. its not working

New results show detected threats, which might be false positives. It's indeed not best practice at all to include your own miners, instead link to the miner dev's topics and give proper instructions on how to mine with their miners. Might be false positives, might be real threats. My avast at least did not give an alert but that means nothing.

This smells like a scam. not worth mining the pool. smaller miners get no shares at all and wont make any money

Thank you! I actually thought they had stolen my projects name and codebase to start with, but it seems it's a different coin. This launch has really confused some of my coins users, some of them even thinking I bailed on my project to start this one.I wish these devs would search the bitcointalk fourms and see that IRIDIUM ALREADY EXISTS - this coin should be renamed.

Well I think we should wait for the dev to com forward and explain few details which I see he has done previously. All new projects have bumpy rides but if he is able to answer all the questions that crowd has, I think thats what is needed to make this a success.
So, let wait for the dev to answer some of the questions that we have posed to him.

I read the comments here and some are confused as it seemed there are two coins now with the same name "Iridium". Whichever came later should modify the coin name.
Anyways, I'm interested about this coin as it has No ICO and I believe this is very good especially now that more countries are declaring ICOs as illegal.

Hi, While i understand the other Dev. concerns about the name of the coin. I was developing this project for months, I cant change the name of the coin just because the other coin was posted a day earlier. This project and "IRD coin" are very different. But i wish the other dev. Good luck. and just i hope people are not confuse about the 2 coins. I will try my best to clarify people about the 2, when asked! Thanks All

Why is it weird to have a file on .rar? There are instances you can compress your file lie sending over to another dev to collaborate in the project!! The source code is on GitHub https://github.com/iridiumcash/Iridium/tree/master/iridium Please Review it. I am not trying to hide anything here, Else i would've created a new GitHub account to upload the code. I am trying to answer everyones questions and address all concerns about the project. Hi, Yes, the only way to get "IRI coins" without having to mine with computer power is to download the app and invite others to the app with your "Mining Code". 50% of the coins will be distributed With the app. Thanks for your questions. Best All

How is development going to be funded?
Until now the development of this project was totally funded by me. But soon i will have to be asking for donation to maintaining the project. This idea came up because i had friends trying to get into Bitcoin but they just gave up before getting started. So the idea came up to build the coin and the app to ease the process of getting into Cryptos. I hope people will donate. Thanks All

As much as I want to help to spread the word, I am still not clear how this whole system works. Is there someone who can explain what needs to be done? For example-
1) Install Android wallet 2) Install and sync desktop wallet 3) Share the referral link from an Android wallet with your friends. 4) "X" amount of coins are sent to desktop wallet for each referral on "X" amount of hrs after registration etc etc.....
Until I understand the but and bolts of this project, it is difficult to talk about it with others. Can the dev please help me understand the crux of the matter here?
Thanks and have a nice day.

Using a rar file is stupid, have you ever followed a compiling guide for Linux? It always begins with . No exchange will list your coin without public sourcecode on github.

Exactly my thought, maybe distribution through an exchange buying the premine Indeed, Cryptopia giveaway would be a great way to distribute the coins, although that could be gamed with double accounts as well. Perhaps they can log users IP addresses. Check them against each other.

I still do not understand how this whole system works. Seems confusing to me though I really want to partake but then until this makes sense to me I guess I'll just have to wait or let it go.
Dev or any member from the project, can you answer to some of the questions I asked previously, please?
Hello, Im sorry for the lateness, The whole purpose of Iridium is to bring more people to cryptocurrency. There are millions of people that have want to use cryptos but have no idea how to mine a coin. 50% of the coins have been pre-mine to be Distributed by the Blockwallet App. and the other 50% will be mined just like any other coin. To mine coins from the app its simple. When you create a wallet via de Block wallet app you will be assigned a "Mining code" share this code with others and every time a new user creates a wallet you and the new user will both get 10.00 IRI. NOTE: A new user can create Unlimited accounts on their phone device, but will only be rewarded once. In addition We are working on a project to show everyone every coin that has been distributed via the app, This is necessary to show transparency of coin distribution and build trust. Thanks All

x11 mining can be easily monopolized, just google for asics. Look at new algos, like a skunk for gpus or cpryptonight for cpu. But still first suffers from nicehash\gpu farms ans second from botnets. So it's hard to avoid monopolization, but still attracts much more miners. And also bounty\airdrops along with an exchange can help to build up a larger community.

I doubt OP even has access to the Github or he would have uploaded the sourcecode by now. He probably got scammed by a coin creation service and has no idea how git even works. Prove me wrong OP. Lesson: Don't mine a coin just because it is new. Look for innovation instead of fancy websites and android wallets (easy to clone from existing coins).

was the thing that made me interested. We need coins that can go more basic (but yet advanced tech).

I think your mobile wallet app is great. Looks and functions really well. I have already mined 20.00 IRI.
Does the name have to be Blockwallet? Why not Iridium wallet or IRI wallet.

This looks like a good project concept. It may be a good future one. But a point to note is that if you really want the less informed to be really aware of cryptocurrencies, you may have to do some campaigns outside of bitcointalk because majority of people in this forum are already cryptos savvy.

It's surprising the little relevance & traction this project is getting despite having a well-designed webpage, a fully functional Windows & Linux wallet as well as a working Android app (with only 50 downloads). I think there's something wrong with communication & marketing. Having seen the amount of work that has been put on it, you should do something to raise awareness, such as starting a bounty campaign or something like that.
Anyway, congratulations for the project.

I would like a response from the Iridium Dev about the reason for no bounty campaign. Do not believe in them? Hassle, attracts the wrong type of people?

Hi there, Your coin name was already used a day before you posted this. While I understand there is no maliciousness on your part, it's going to cause some confusion with the other (already large) community.

Hello Dev,
Is there any plan for this coin, there seems to be no activity. The coin concept id good, but there should be a community support and which needs some channel like discord etc, where the miners can get some updates.

Hello all
Just succeed to download the wallet and using sgminer, started to mine. Some question:
1- How long would take for you guys to find a block? any chart or table to do the calculate like Whattomine?
2- What is the value of each 100 IRI (one block) as I cant find any number to find the potential value of what I am mining.
3- I am getting around 21 Mh/s with 3x GTX 1070 together. Is that a good hash rate? whats the best hardware to mine IRI?
4- I am using sgminer and here is my config. Please advice if I should chebge anything.
"sgminer.exe -a x11 stratum+tcp://52pool:8895 -u MYUSERNAME -p c=IRI "
Best Regards

Best Regards Hello. With you hashrate you can mine solo. I mined yesterday with 20MH and for a couple of hours was able to find 10 blocks. if the network difficulty is 4-5, you will constanly be able to find blocks.

I don't know about you guys but this is now even the real iridium ann thread so I don't know what scam is this but I would shut down the thread if I would be a moderator, is unfair for people to fall in these type of traps.

there is no update at all, whether this thread is only used to create confusion between us in this forum. and if just make thread to mine it maybe you should explain more detail again, because it seems this is not active anymore.

There was a coin named Iridium launched yesterday. Different algo but same name. People are confused.
Thanks All Hi There - Shaun from the other Iridium here. The original dev of the other Iridium is no longer on the project and it looks like your iridium has not been developed in public for a bit. I am not sure if you're still developing the coin in private. I know you say that you will try your best to clarify to people when asked, however, we would not like to have that kind of process or pressure on you. If you're not developing anymore, it might be a helpful time to remove the information and sites so that there is no confusion. Would this be a good time for you to remove the old non-developed Iridium site and codebase? We are in the process of posting to exchanges and they will be confused if there are two coins. If you're still developing on the coin, my apologies. However, we do need a developer on the other Iridium and we'd love to have you. Please reach out if you are willing. -Shaun
