i think waves will be one of the best crypto currencies in the future. the roadmap is flawless and the dev and the team are very good. and now the smart accounts are added. it's great news and the price of waves is slowly rising again.

They are dealing many things and probably that makes things slower. Only thing they should have realistic targets with realistic timelines.
Otherwise there are many competitors that can replace Waves' pieces one by one.

I do not see waves now compared to ethereum though waves is a good crypto in the market and it does not uses ETH platform and the other side is that waves has establish already also in the crypto market. However, i still do believe that it could be so hard to surpass ethereum.

At least non turing smart contract is done. And yeah that spam token issue has been headache for a while.
About the legit projects, we haven't seen solid project lately on Waves. But if they can do some good moves about security tokens, they can attract many entrepreneurs.

I see that in coinmarketcap it is very big for WAVES finance so that means WAVES is good for the long term.
Moreover, WAVES also opens smartcontraccts, but there are rarely successful ones until the Exchange, because WAVES is lacking in ICO.
