Hey all, a small request. The developer of Slimcoin would like someone to verify that my Mac Slimcoin wallet works before he posts it on his site: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=613213.msg7027687#msg7027687 - Would any of you fine Mac users be willing to give it a try and PM him or post in his thread with your results? Thanks a bunch.

The wallet is in OP and here: https://www.dropbox.com/s/b5irhas4xqvh2pb/Slimcoin-Qt-0.3.0.0-Mac.zip

There are several different types of Bitcoin clients. The most secure are full nodes like Bitcoin Core, but full nodes are more resource-heavy, and they must do a lengthy initial syncing process. As a result, lightweight clients with somewhat less security are commonly used.
Advertised sites are not endorsed by the Bitcoin Forum. They may be unsafe, untrustworthy, or illegal in your jurisdiction.

Hi.

A friend of mine has a problem with their Florincoin Mac wallet, and took a picture of their screen to show me the error.

What is the cause of this error?

What is the cause of this error?

I've never seen that error before, but my best guess is that the blockchain has gotten so big that the wallet has run out of memory trying to process it. I would suggest that they shut down the wallet, close all other apps on their Mac, and restart the wallet.

The blockchain is just under 500 MB.

There's also some internal overhead from the database code, so that could be it. I assume your friend has restarted the wallet, right?

Also, your friend can see how much memory Florincoin is using and how much overall memory is used on the system with the Activity Monitor app in /Applications/Utilities.

Thanks. I'll reply back with the details once he's done some testing. We don't live physically near each other, so it may be difficult for me to remotely debug this issue via email with him.

Even though it is not use a wallet as such, what about NXT on the Mac?

NXT runs as a server, no wallet on your computer.

It says that the GLDCoin mac wallet is damaged and can therefore not be opened on my mac, and luckycoin wallet won't connect. Could you look into these problems and solve them?

If A developer has not paid a License fee to Apple you will get that Message instead of L clicking on open (for install) try right clicking usually works.

Hello Max,

Question on the Quark Wallet:
The most recent windows update included a QR code reveal feature, however I am not able to find how to reveal the QR on my Mac wallet- has this feature been updated on your version?

Thank you very much!

Also Max,

From the Quark Forum this issue:
So I'm running the newest version, 8.3.22 on the latest version of OS X, 10.9.2

One day, Quark wallet crashed and wouldn't reopen. I have a backup of the corrupted wallet file, but no time machine backups going further back than that for technical reasons.

So I took things a step beyond the "try deleting prefs" stuff. I downloaded a new copy of the wallet in to a completely new machine. I let it sync up to the network. Then I quit and tried swapping in my corrupt wallet. It doesn't like this. When I try...

It loads the block index...

It tries to load the wallet...

Then the error happens:
A fatal error occurred. Quark can no longer continue safely and will quit.

EXCEPTION: St13runtime_error
CWalletDB::ListAccountCreditDebit() : cannot create DB cursor
quarkcoin in Runaway exception

Although, I'm pretty sure I usually get a different error. But I hit ok on that error message, and Quark goes bye bye. Just tried it again, same error. If I remove the wallet.dat file, quarkcoin wallet will fire up no problem, just with an empty wallet. This is a totally clean fresh installation of quarkcoin, on a machine that has never had it installed before. This problem started on my old machine that has been running quarkwallet for a few months. As I said above, one day it crashed and wouldn't reopen.

What else can I do?
