The creator of the +100M users streaming platform will shake the video distributing industry by developing a new platform, called Flixxo. Relying on unlicensed videos since its inception, Popcorn Time has found on smart contracts the right technology for shifting to legit content and building up a sustainable business model.

Flixxo is a decentralized network for content distribution, based on Bittorrent protocol. Instead of leaning on high infrastructural costs in bandwidth and storage space - like other video platforms such as Netflix or YouTube - Flixxo gets rid of centralized servers by incentivizing its users to actively become distributors (or “seeders”), rewarding them on Flixx token. Flixx are needed in order to watch new videos.

On Flixxo every author uploads his work to the network and chooses the revenue model: how much Flixx it would cost to watch his content and which percentage of its earnings will be shared with the distributors. The more they share, the more incentives for the network to distribute and make a video go viral. If a user ran out of credits, he can also give some seconds of his attention to sponsored content in exchange of Flixx. This structure creates an organic market, as advertirsers need to buy Flixx from content creators in order to showcase their sponsored content.

Just one thing I’d like to say: I’m personally in touch with Jeremy, the CEO of LBRY and (I think) there is mutual respect, both on the projects and on the teams. Said so, some other LBRY team member may don’t know we are aligned and looking for a way of working together. Absolutely - the team are pushing for further liquidity and as the platform develops and gathers attention, we will start to see small/medium exchanges proactively take interest as well. It's a virtuous cycle.

Indeed... we expected a closed release for content creators one week before the 25th, but when you start putting everything together everything that may go wrong actually goes wrong
So, true to our announced release date, we opened the doors to the first tier of users on Monday and since then we have been working on the bugs those users found in the app

Is the invitation to have access to this application still available or it was limited to some users ? I have read feedback of one testers seeing him such positive I also have wish to participate. I know few days it was available but not being alert I missed to register myself. I actually came here to see what is new after launch of app. It seems all is well.
