The best thing to do is to research.  There are considerations to know which requires a lot of studying to do such as technical and monetary rules, public interest,  market capitalization, trading volume, community strength and development activity of altcoins for ICOs.

A poorly written whitepaper gives good hints that the ICO is likely to be a fly-by-night kind of setup.

I will give those a miss!

So many new ICO, and they all have new idea and tech listed on their webpages,

and even the websites use the same template...

but so many new ICO, how to check if it's scam, or worth to invest...

Research is always the best weapon against this fraudulent activities or fake ICO's. I usualy look at their website to find anything suspicious. First read their whitepaper, and roadmaps. Posting here might help you as well, coz the community discusses about those specific fake ICO's. Participating in ICO's will cost u a lot of risk coz there might be a good project but it never guaranteed its success, its not the only fake ICO's that creates more risk, but knowledge and know-how will save you a bit.

It is very difficult to realize which ICO is a scam. However, you can ask yourself some questions to understand about ICO:
1. What is the target of this project?
2. What does project do to solve problems?
3. Is it necessary to apply blockchain system?
4. What are devs experiences?

It seem very hard to choose the right one though they have new idea.
So far, i never invest in altcoin ico, actually i buy altcoin when its listed in market.

First of all, the project sponsor is very important, and then whether the project can continue to develop, and finally the publicity of the project is good or bad.

Agree with you. Sponsor is important. They have people to jugde that ICO bad or good. So we can beleive in them.

Yes, we can look at the advisors. If they are famous people like Vitalik Buterin,.. I think this project will succeed

I think we need to clarify that ico is not 100% risk but maybe around 90%. If you say 100% means all of them are scam.
As i know that there is any ico with good planning and nice developer. So not all them are risky. But just do your own research before investing.

Look for articles related to ico on communities like bitcointalk, reddit, where you can find people's responses from which you can give your opinion as good or bad.

The first you should check whitepaper clearly and carefully. After that, try to connect with the team to give them your questions. If everything is fine, let invest.

Everybody say the same thing here but who send money to fake ICO's then?
If everybody do their own research these scammers shouldn't raise so much money.

I joined a few ICO and made some investment to those that already has existing product or service. I think the risk is lower with those.  I would say do a lot of research but some of the scam ICO seems legit at the beginning.

I think the best way is to look for the company background. Key points to ask about would be: 1. Reputed market existence 2. Solid Road map 3. Detailed whitepaper 4. Block-chain technology etc.

Above all you should research thoroughly before investing in any ICO.  Smiley

Plenty of ICO's available like hot cakes. It's out key task to verify about the ICO with a research.
Info about the Dev team is not released,  it is better not to consider looking it.
We have to take a headshoot on Google about any such fake profiles or Sammy.
To be added there should be a good customer support.

Man this is how free market works.
People wanted ICO not PRODUCTS so they have been paying 20x for ICOs price.
Now free market give you 20x ICO at ICO price at best.
this system  tries to find ballance
now we had massive BTC pump so more ICOs will come.

Fortunately there are many specialized websites in this business model that are continuously monitoring the different ICOs. It is not enough to visit the websites of the ICOs, it is necessary to check the opinions of other analysts to obtain a better overview, and for that it is very easy to obtain all the available information with a simple Google search.
