And we are going to talk about #agritech again. Though this time it is not an ICO-project, but a fully functioning product. A Californian start-up Blue River Technology has developed agricultural robots for weeding that can differentiate between good crops and weeds and get rid of weeds via target spraying of herbicide.

The first company’s robot called See & Spray takes 30 milliseconds to tell weeds apart.  That is ten times faster than a blink of a human eye.

The robot would allow farmers not only to decrease the volume of used pesticides to spray crops by about 10 times, but also to buy regular seeds that cost about 75% less.

His name is Bruce Hardy. This Canadian miner found a way to direct the used energy to benefit nature. He has been mining bitcoin for two years now and it during this time he has built 30 bitcoin-farms. And these farms are real.

This miner used a standard cooling system though recently he started directing the heat from the processors to grow plants. Now the heat from the bitcoin mining goes to edible products.  By pressing the button he pumps water enriched with nitrates to water basil, lettuce and barley.

This way energy is being used in a more economical way, and the heat is transmitted to agricultural needs. Bitcoin investors from China and Australia have already shown great interest in this technology of the Canadian businessman.

The World Wildlife Fund (WWF) uses blockchain technology to trace tuna to help fight against illegal fishing.

Right after each fish is caught it will be marked with RFID tag on a boat which will allow the plant manufacturer to trace it by downloading the data into the blockchain base. Then once the fish is processed it receives a QR code connected with a unique entry in the database to help trace the product on its way to the consumer.

They are using Artificial Intelligence at a poultry farm. Soon they will get to blockchain;)

Group of companies “Damate” in February will launch the biggest poultry processing plant in Europe that uses Artificial Intelligence. The plant is located in Penza Region, and its production capacity comes to 155 thousand tons of ready products a year. Artificial intelligence will serve as sanitary entry check for the employees. As you know, each employee has to pass sanitary processing of hands and shoes before entering the plant, and each time they go through a set of standard actions. A camera installed in that area will recognize employees by their faces and scan their movements. Up until employees go through the whole set of necessary steps set by the instructions on sanitary processing, the plant entry would remain closed for them. Meanwhile, there is nobody next to the video camera, so that there is no human error and the employee compliance with all the steps required for the sanitary processing is guaranteed.

China and the USA have concluded first trade deal on blockchain! And this has happened in #agritech sector!

Chinese company Shandong Bohi Industry used blockchain platform Easy Trading Connect (ETC) for the first time to sell soy beans to an American agricultural company Louis Dreyfus.

Banks including ING, Societe General and ABN Amro took part in that deal. This delivery of soya from China to the US became the “first full trading transaction in the agricultural sector that used blockchain platform.”

It is worth mentioning that ETC platform allows for faster and easier transactions. In particular, it digitalizes contracts such as purchase-sale agreements, letters of credit and reduces the need for legal support of a deal.

Based on the developers group statement, technology makes transactions five times faster.

A “green” crypto revolution is awaiting to happen in 2018, states Wired publisher. This will happen due to implementation of blockchain technology in companies that support ecologic principles of production.

As a consequence new crypto currencies are expected to appear that will stimulate investments into such companies as well as encourage purchases of natural products. Using blockchain technology, delivery chains from different economy sectors could be combined into one global database.  Such level of transparency would allow to define specific ecologic benefits such as ecologically clean fuel, natural proteins or renewable energy sources, and turn them into market products.

For example, there are such crypto currencies as GENERcoin, EnergyCoib and SolarCoin. The latter crypto currency can be earned by showing “green” certificates of using renewable solar energy and spend on purchases of real products.
