Personally I will claim and dump, just like I did with BCash. Don't see too much exciting here that wasn't done before.

Everybody that is excited about the Bitcoin Gold GPU-mining feature, please take a closer look at Bitcore (BTX).
It is around for more than four months now, has all the good things segwit and bigger blocks can bring to the table, has a unqiue ASIC-resistant GPU mining algo and a fair distribution to everyone interested via multiple airdrops AND multiple snapshots for BTC.
Also the chain isn't 150 GB as all the recent normal forks suffer from.

For a start I'd recommend reading the bitcointalk ann thread or watch these videos linked here: https://steemit.com/crypto-news/@xwerk/news-massive-25-airdrop-for-btx-incoming-bitcore-promo-video

Get educated about Bitcoin. Check out Andreas Antonopoulos on Youtube. An old but gold talk: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rc744Z9IjhY

UPDATE 2024: Daniel Schmachtenberger on The Meta-Crisis: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LSx8j8lSewA Important talk about the current state of this planet and human society in general.

Im not even going to extract these coins. They can go to hell..... I have my btc in cold storage, and getting the BCH out of them was a pain in the ass, and required creating new addresses etc.
So i'm just gonna let the btg rot!

I also have my btc in cold storage ( trezor ). should i move them to an exchange in the waiting of btcgold ? it would be easier ?

Just noticed there is coin in coinmarketcap for BTG -  It is called Bitegem .

It looks like registering a domain in IT , so Bitcoin would buy them out in future for that valid name - BTG

Bitcoin fork time 1, Bitcoin fork time 2 ... how many time will Bitcoin fork in future?

We will have 1 in the future after BCG. When people are too disappointed with BCH and BCG. They decide to combine 2 in 1. Called The New Bitcoin  = TNB.

And of course, 1 BTC = 1 TNB. 1 TNB will worth $10000. Easy money. eh?

He is talking about the BTCGPU? That should not be BTG or else it will conflict with bitgem which uses that abbreviation.
This is just a prediction and there is nothing real about it. It was talked about a month ago and should have been forked right after the BCH fork. But I guess it loss its way and made it to somewhere else where there is no human being alive.  Grin

Somehow very allegorically about another way where there is no person? You mean - demand?

IT would be good to understand if "Bitcoin Gold" has anything to do with gold or if the word "gold" has just been attached to make it shine...

I hope this gold will be shinier than Bitcoin Cash. I will be shifting my entire portfolio to Bitcoin when the friendly fork of Bitcoin Gold starts. If I am not mistaken this will be implemented also the way Bitcoin Cash did last August. There will be Bitcoin Gold to all Bitcoin holders in selected wallets.  Grin

Bitcoin Gold? What the heck is that? I've never heard of it before. Btw, on marketcoincap, BTG is assigned to Bitgem.

Bitcoin Gold is a fork of bitcoin just like Bitcoin Cash. One of the notable changes is that they have changed algorithm to Equihash which makes it asic resistance and its a memory intensive algorithm. The idea is to bring back GPU mining plus some other changes.

At this rate we are going to get an innumerable amount of forks I was not aware of this fork but to be honest I do not care, bitcoin could not change its algorithm without declaring a frontal war against the miners so that is the last option and will only be used if the miners go with the segwit2x fork, but I’m curious who is supporting this fork?

I do not understand why there are such hardfork split. is BTC too expensive and everyone wants a similar coin at a cheaper price ?.
after BCC / BCH  Cool now BTG will be present and everyone wants it for free.

The exchange site will make an announcement about the decision if they want or not to distribute the new bitcoin forked coin to the bitcoin holders in the exchange sites. This should be confirmed by the exchange before the fork will be happening.

Hello,

Does anybody know which wallets plan to support the Bitcoin Gold (BTG) friendly fork on October 1st? And what, if anything, should be done by the user?
where did you hear October the 1st? looks like it is actually happening or possibly happening on October the 25th and not 4 days ago? here is an article about it https://news.bitcoin.com/another-bitcoin-fork-bitcoin-gold-project-plans-to-fork-bitcoin-next-month/

Frankly I don't believe they will be succeed. BCH is alive just because have pretty good support of BTC miners. I think BCH as well as upcoming bitcoin gold will die next 1-2 years.

Another fork? Why? Is this just other coins trying to piggyback on bitcoin. I suppose it will still be profitable as people will still trade in it.
