"  If you have a Bitcoin (BTC) balance on Bittrex during the BTG snapshot block 491,407 occurring approximately on October 24, 3am PT (10am UTC), you will be additionally credited the equivalent amount of Bitcoin Gold (BTG) on a 1:1 basis. i.e. 1 BTC on Bittrex held during the on-exchange snapshot will get you 1 BTG.  BTC held on orders will also be credited.  Only the BTC held on your account is eligible for BTG.  Full details below."

Thanks for sharing. I didn't know that about Bittrex. I was going to start to move my BTCs to another exchange. Nice!

Imagine that you will have your personal keys. And after fork you will import these keys into BTG "devs" coded wallet, never known and used before. This wallet will send these keys to BTG guys... and your bitcoins will say good-bye... They will have full access to your wallet.

Premine shows the objective of this event...

that is why, you should first move your BTC to another wallet and then import the seed in an "empty" wallet to collect BTG.

Is it? Bit shocking and alerting as well. As said, will try to keep either the wallet empty or move to other wallets. I read few posts here stating bitcoin gold will be sent the wallets where bitcoin is held. Is it so? When the bitcoin gold is going to pitch in?

Do you know anything about a wallet for Bitcoin Gold? Just over a day from the fork isn't a great presentation...

The concept of BTG is ridiculous. It's basically a BTC clone business scam for someone to profit off of.  We really need to stop endorsing and supporting AltCoins that have very little difference from the major currencies. If we support these projects, then someone is going to come out with BitCoin Silver, Bitcoin Bronze, etc.

That's why I don't trust any exchanges that will let you import your private keys, it's really unsafe. Just hold your bitcoin into electrum wallet, coinomi or blockchain wallet, or any other wallet that supports btg. Don't risk your coins just for free coins. Be better safe than sorry.

"Bittrex will make all reasonable attempts to credit our users BTG but until we have a fully supported wallet, we can neither guarantee tokens or consider creating a market. We will continue to monitor the state of the codebase and network."

This bit is also on that article. Personally, I would use a wallet that only I know the private keys (paper or electrum) and then when BTG goes live, use it on the first wallet/exchange that fully supports it and sell if need be. This way, I'm in control of everything.

Bittrex were successful in crediting our BitcoinCash the last time so it gained the trust of the people expecting they will be credited with BitcoinGold. Personally I have deposits in bittrex but that was only less than 1 BTC because I don't expect 1:1 is with the same value.

I have not. I am curious to see what it will actually trade at. These forks are getting out of hand, seems like there is one every month now. The effect s on BTC price can be seen clearly

You don't really have to give out your private keys to get Bitcoin Gold just hold them where you have access to your own private keys where your bitcoin is held instead of an exchange.

Coinomi will support BTG, they also provide a tutorial on how you can claim you free BTG after the fork. Good luck!

You still have to sweep/import your private keys into a Bitcoin Gold wallet. There are some potential privacy issues there. Assuming there is replay protection, one should move BTC first, then dump the empty private keys. Without replay protection it's a bit more complicated. But the privacy issue remains.

I don't like the situation with fork, fork, fork. And who will be so stupid to give out private keys to recieve BTC gold?

The Bitcoin Gold fork is better seen as a simple "airdrop" in my view. It's clearly an altcoin -- same as Bitcoin Cash -- and I have no issue with that. UASFs like BIP148 and hard forks like Segwit2x are much more dangerous because they could easily split the network and create multiple blockchains.

I'm okay with dumping some empty keys to get BTG if it's worth something. But I don't love the privacy implications.

Is this bitcoin like the one in real life the shine and shivering. What do you mean guys by bitcoin gold how does it differ from the regular bitcoin and if you're going to invest which would prefer and which has the best rate of return. Sorry for the inconvenience I wanna learned more in which I could get a higher rate of return of my money. Thank you so much.
