The exchange wallets that made it public that they will support it didn't support it after the hard fork, for me Bitcoin Gold is a well thought scam.

Hello! Does anyone know if or how to get Bitcoin gold out of an Mycellium wallet or if it is even possible? I have a friend that put his BTC in there before the fork becuase he was told that they were supporting it. I don't know anything about this wallet so any help would be appreciated!
If I remember it right the android version was able to export the private keys. It should be under the keys tab, by selecting the account and export the keys. Check coinmarketcap for exchanges that have Bitcoin Gold. You won't need to import your private key to an exchange. If they ask for your private key, ignore it. |

The more this drags on, the less credible this fork becomes. It seems ridiculous to have forked with a half baked platform. Are you guys optimistic or pessimistic about BTG at this point in time?
Decidedly pessimistic. There are lots of altcoins and many are rubbish. But few are incompetent, or at least as incompetent as BTG. It would be pretty pessimistic to not want to see the price of Bitcoin Gold to increase beyond what they think it will because there is an actual development team working on the coin. |

It is just the name. I can make a correlation though because Bitcoin Gold was created to give power back to home users and can be mined only with GPU-s. It wanted to make bitcoin decentralized once again but its developers I think failed miserably as I still don't know what is going on with this coin and why is still in testnet in mining and not on real network. |

I guess we'll see when mainnet blockchain is publicly available. free money for me...with the BTG snapshot.....so conflicted....have not moved any...it should fade in price in my view but that obviously is not happening....btc forks may be the new way to make ALT COINS...why make an ALT that hits the world at 2c, when you can fork off BTC and it is immediately based in $$$ not micro cents.... again, befuddled I am... |

Bitcoin Gold is a fork of the Bitcoin blockchain. At block 491407, Bitcoin Gold miners will begin creating blocks with a new proof-of-work algorithm, and this will cause a bifurcation of the Bitcoin blockchain. The original Bitcoin blockchain will continue on unaltered, but a new branch of the blockchain will split off from the original chain. The new branch is a distinct blockchain with the same transaction history as Bitcoin up until the fork, but then diverges from it. As a result of this process, a new cryptocurrency is born

It would be fricking wonderful if it stayed at 300 per btc snapshot...myself.....I still think at best it will be around 4 bucks which still would be great under the old ways of launching ALT Coins.....and waiting/building 3 years to get to $1 just saying, it does not, on top of that, seem to be the most 'well run' project in crypto land  |
