What's the profit mining it compared to ETH?

Whattomine doesn't show BTG yet

As I tested my 6x1060 rig, in 2 hours I was able to mine 0.001 BTG
Hope it will give you some info.

Even in the event that an attacker gains more than 50% of the network's computational power, only transactions sent by the attacker could be reversed or double-spent. The network would not be destroyed.

When exactly can I claim my free BTGs so I can dump them and move on  Angry

No exchange offering deposit for this coin at the moment you should have to wait till next update. We can check only our balance but to dump our private keys to get access there.

Okay guys, I just want to share I was able to:

1) make wallet from github - compile and run
2) get whole blockchain (longer download than whole world porn compilation lol)
3) find and run solo mining proxy and connect rig to it

Wish me few lucky blocks ASAP :-D

I tried to do the trick where you just copy over a version of your Bitcoin Core ~/.bitcoin folder from before the fork date (so you don't need to resync the entire blockchain, this worked for the Bitcoin Cash fork) and it did not work for me here with Bitcoin Gold.

Should it have?

Yeah, that didn't work for me either.  The best I could come up with was bootstrapping from my Bitcoin node (running and listening on the default port 8333).  The command I used was
Code:
$ ./bgoldd -rpcport=8339 -connect=localhost:8333 -bootstrap -skiphardforkibd
This took about an hour.  I was able to check my progress with:
Code:
$ ./bgold-cli -rpcport=8339 getinfo

Coinomi Update: $BTG is still syncing, 60K blocks to go, in the meantime you can send your coins to Coinomi, you will have full access to them once the blockchain is fully synced. #BitcoinGold #BTG

Hi all,
What a nightmare!
Lost a lot of sleep trying to be one of the first miners on this coin but I am not sure I have set it right!

Q. I am currently getting shares from eu1.btgmine.org but I am not sure if it is on the right fork?n Am I even mining any BTG???

I have validated mt BTG wallet - that seems ok.  I created a coinomi wallet from the android app and the address is showing shares on the pool website, which is SHOCKINGLY BAD however the reported shares is no where near what CMD is showing.

And I thought the ETN launch was rough!!!!

Thanks for reading

it seems that the pool mine.pool.gold was not returned and all that was extracted from the night, dropped!
and now the extraction went on a new one, that's literally 30 minutes ago
what a cruel deception!

Suprnova the longest chain, the rest were sent to the forest: (and recognized as fake

Well I got everything ready for the start of Bitcoin Gold yesterday. I moved my Bitcoin to a new wallet, and was ready to import my BTG from seed into the online BTG wallet.
I had the deposit page of Bitfinex ready to generate an address too.

14h later, the online wallet still isn't working and no deposit addresses can be made on bitfinex.  What a joke.

I guess I will just have to sit on them for a while, at least Bitcoin proper is recovering!

Yea, I was ready to solo mine from start, gues what - finished downloading blockchain today morning, after devs premined all juice.
Look at the explorer http://btgexp.com:8080/richlist - top 4 have 40% :-D
