please send all your BTC to a new wallet before you try to claim your BTC Gold. And it does not matter which tool you are using. if you do this all the scammers will get a private key / seed to an empty BTC wallet.

Good point.

Just to clarify: So if I send all my BTC to a new wallet, the BTG will remain on the old one?

if nothing coins likes bitcoin dark and bitcoin plus can temporarily command incredible volumes, then there's absolutely no reason why this won't either some day.

i might get rid of a small amount but i'll hang on to the rest. stuff like this has a habit of surprising you no matter how appalling it actually is.

This one worked for me . https://--btgwallet.online/

Good idea, lets all trust the n00b account spamming links to drop your private keys for fools gold.

Thats indeed cocky

Yes it is and that is because I have been here long enough to see these scammers use sockpuppet accounts to rip off all the n00bs that have been showing up so I now assume a n00b account is a thief until I see otherwise. It is unfortunate as I was the fool that took people at their word until proven otherwise but this space has made me jaded. When it comes to money the criminals abound. you would be well served to heed this warning.

Yes if it had those funds on the time of the snapshot. BTG is nothing more than a copy of the blockchain with code changed to add a pre-mine and change the algo. It was delayed because during that time replay attack code was needed, which was available from btc repository, but they were too incompetent to integrate that code for weeks. Just as an FYI many alts did integrate that same code quickly and with no issues.

BTW I don't have much time in my life so I do not write out long explanations any longer and that is why you will just see short quips from me but you will find if you heed them you will be the better off for it. I have saved alot of people alot of time effort and pain by pointing out stuff n00bs would have gotten rekt by. And your welcome that I just spent 5 minutes of my life explaining this too you a total stranger. <<-- was that too cocky for you? Smiley

I have been reading the post since the mainnet live starts and hahaha. I guess its better if we give it a try, I mean who gives a ***K if we waste "lets say a day or so" for mining, atleast we tried. If bitfools is right, then thanks a lot mate for passing the concept to us!

hell i dont know who is Jack Liao and Jerry hahaha, Jack Ma just came into my mind!

Good luck!

The launch of Bitcoin Gold's main network, due to take place this past Sunday, November 12, was full of problems. The fact will represent a lot of tension for the digital currency, which emerged after a split in the Bitcoin network, in the coming days and probably its price will show high volatility. According to reports from the news site News BTC, Bitcoin Gold developers have launched the "client application" to connect to Blockchain's digital currency. Unfortunately, the "official" release had several problems.

Bittrex didnt provide any notice if they are going to support BTG. So, better don't hope that you will get it cause most exchanges didnt want to support BTG

I think that Bittrex will not only give you your coins. but will also open a trading pair, so as not to lose the turnover, which is quite large.

so, how about the future of bitcoin gold, will the creators pay some exchanges to get listed to increase trading / buying possibilities?
so far prices on hitbtc are far lower than the other exchanges without deposit options.

Imagine that you will have your personal keys. And after fork you will import these keys into BTG "devs" coded wallet, never known and used before. This wallet will send these keys to BTG guys... and your bitcoins will say good-bye... They will have full access to your wallet.

Really sloppy on BTG side, but they aren't the ones scamming. The team is well intentioned IMO, just understaffed, bad communicators, and under-resourced. There has been a litany of attacks to try to kill the BTG project. I think best to stay away until the dust settles. There will be opportunity to claim into legit wallets (heard Trezor is working on support) soon.

They'll be releasing a tool to split your BTG Monday according to their twitter.

I bit the bullet as there seem to be some pricing floor reached now, and installed the BTG core wallet, downloaded the bootstrapped blockchain and now trying to import the beast. Takes forever, I'm about 1/3 through now. Perhaps it will finish later today.

Then if I have the hardforked coins, I may just jump on the train and get rid of them. Or maybe not, let's see what this weekend has to offer pricewise Smiley
