Not sure - but I'd like for someone from wex.nz to step up and at least claim responsibility for what happened and also at least offer to refund investors ?

So far we are completely in the dark about what has happened. Atleast btc-e staff earlier stepped up and _tried_ to fight the situation.

Maybe we should approach law enforcement for this ?

Does anyone find it odd that somewhere around a half billion USD in coins gets stolen and hardly a word about it in the media?

LOL. They are probably hiding form all the hitmen that have been contracted on their heads since the first exit scam they did.

Most definitely. The media should in fact have focussed on this case given the precedence of the Feds going after btc-e and wex.nz replacing it !

Most of the coins we had there were pretty much converted to illiquid tokens that were difficult to withdraw - this is scam^2

sorry man, it's game over now.

the lawsuits are a dead end. they were hiding behind falsified registrations and virtual offices in new zealand and singapore anyway. you can't sue these people. they are probably in donetsk or some other such place. you will never find them.

the best hope was another domain but they already tried and failed twice more with new domains since wex.nz was shut down. the fact that they made such little effort to get back online tells me the disabled wallets were truly indicative of insolvency. it was always a lost hope, ever since withdrawals were disabled last july. i think the money is gone now. there's no point coming back.

Might be no hope but wonder if they'd be open to someone or a group buying there platform. Probably never get the money back but as platforms go it was quite nice and as a community it would be great to have our own exchange

Had quite a few funds there - anything we can do to even make an attempt to recover them ? This sucks to lose out with no information at all.

Not a bean. It's all in the hands of others. Since we've heard nothing from anyone about anything it's either been given up on or the wheels will turn incredibly slowly. My guess is that whatever money is left is long gone.

The money is gone, and at least some of the people behind wex went on to start a new exchange:

Some people are trying to go after them (https://wex-scam.com/news/, various Telegram channels, etc.), apparently the ex-CEO is now wanted in several countries, but good luck to anyone who lost anything there, chances are low to perpetrators will face justice, and even lower anyone will get anything back.

Yea - been a while now, but I believe I read somewhere on twitter that the funds are still in the cold wallet (not sure if thats the one frozen by binance though). Just hoping people are able to salvage something - the original btc-e owners at least tried against the wishes of the Feds - hope wex.nz stall also has some balls to do the same!
