Gigabyte RX 580 Gaming 8GB now with only 1500 timings! +memory errors

 I bought a new Gigabyte RX 580 Gaming 8GB

now with only 1500 timings! Using latest blockchain driver, AB beta 16 and I got 25mh/s and I saw in bios this: https://imgur.com/a/DviXr

only 1500.

This is different than the older RX 580 I had. Is now MING-GD/F11/058A wuth 0X1D where old is MING-GD/F10/058A with 0xE9.

So I used the bios from older version, that was adding missing timings and undervolted as the others but I get memory errors ... in HWiNFO.

Is everybody getting memory errors ? how did you fixed them ? Thanks.

Older cards have no memory errors with same bios, same overclock, same undervolt. They are cool, 58 degrees, 60% fan.

Now after a restart I get 3000 errors / hour. Before restart I had 250.000 / day. How safe is to keep it with errors, and how many are accepted for long time use ?

also, being the 4th card of 5 (the five is not rx) this particular 4th card RX new has blocked the Core Voltage (mV) in afterburner the 950 added im bios, which for the rest of the cards show.  https://imgur.com/a/UL8MN  . Why ?

For the Core voltage option being disabled in Afterburner, run DDU in safe mode to remove the drivers. Reinstall the drivers and that should fix it. I would try the Polaris Bios Editor v1.6 'one click timing patch' bundled performance timings on the original Bios. If you have memory errors, reduce the memory clock by 25 MHz until there are no more errors.

They now have only 1500 timings. No more.

Gigabyte RX 580 Gaming 8GB released in august can reach 30.3 with modded bios with no gpu memory errors.

Using a modded bios for Gigabyte RX 580 Gaming 8GB released in august you can add +1500 changing bios by using older version's bios.

Using a bios from Gigabyte RX 580 Gaming 8GB released in august  that is modded on a Gigabyte RX 580 Gaming 8GB released in september gives gpu memory errors in HWiNFO using the exact settings.

1150 2150 950 = errors, high hashrate. going down 2150 (like 2140, 2130... 2100, 2050...) you get less errors, less hashrate.

1150 2000 950 = no errors, less hashrate.

Anyone can reach 30 mhs with Gigabyte RX 580 Gaming 8GB released in september (which original had 1500 timings only) and no gpu memory errors ? what setttings ?

This is new Hynix memory H5GC8H24MJ, I'm testing timing for that with some guys. But I've never seen 1500MHz as last... It's been tested with MSI and Powercolor. ETH is only around 30MH/s now, but Monero can do 900H/s.

This is new Hynix memory H5GC8H24MJ, I'm testing timing for that with some guys. But I've never seen 1500MHz as last... It's been tested with MSI and Powercolor. ETH is only around 30MH/s now, but Monero can do 900H/s.

Maybe for Gigabyte, but MSI and Powercolor has also 2000MHz strap with this same memory version.

I also don't understand why I cannot move the slider for the 4th card in power voltage this new version in Afterburner but I can in first 3 cards in the rig, same RX but old versions... Gigabyte wants to block and no more selling to miners ?

The timings is not publicly released I only give it to testers right now, since I don't have this type of Hynix. For those who want it, need to have some skills with this type of bios modding and send me feedback for the timings, I have 2 versions now. I wrote about it in my bios modding thread, I will post it that again. Contact me via e-mail.

For the voltage problem, did you use DDU? You may try OverdrivenTool with voltage offset.

Used DDU, reinstalled 23 august driver. Same error in AB, core voltage blocked for my 4th card.

if you add for memory more than 2000 you will get errors, at 2010... 2150.
1 error apears after 1 hour, sooner or less, depends how much you go to  2010, 2050, 2100.... values to 2150.
tried many settings, doesn't like memory overcloked. I use old bios version modded with ...3F17
its a cooling issue also, if you go fan 100% less errors.

if anyone can tell me that he overclocked +2000 with no errors, please let me know.

I got a feeling that this is one step they took to move miners off their gaming cards.

You say to ignore 1 gpu memory error an hour (aproximate) ? Won't brake gpu memory module in the future ? no one says the impact of errors in mining.

that is with 2100 (from 2000 stock), using a modded bios from previous cards, with +1750 timings ...3F17 taken from aorus, I think

If i were them i would do this, to scare away miners from these cards, and force them to buy miner models.

I've offered free timings for testing, did you wrote me via e-mail? I think not. I've got few e-mails regarding this but they have different Hynix memory and only want free timings

Latest test is 17 hours with no memory error and 29.6 MHs. Now In went further and got 30. 1 error after few minutes. I think I know where to go, but i need to bios edit again, maybe today.

Are you using the new bios (MING-8GD/F11/058A) or the old one with "normal" straps?
