We had a busy weekend. This weekend we did a lot of bug fixes on the alpha release. Worked on the artwork editions SmartContract. Not dead for sure. :-)

All future developments and campaigns have been planned. After ICO we will engage with the photographer's community. We already have some photographers signed up for the beta test. Some have portfolios with 10000+ images on top stock photography websites. Together with photographers and other digital artists like illustrators we are testing and improving the platform with bug fixes and features enhancements.

What is OP?

The project is all about Copyright protection and Marketplace for media artist. Initially, the platform will be for photographers & illustrators (Images mainly). The platform will be extended to other digital assets like music and videos.

How copyright protection works:

Currently, none of the stock photography websites offer copyright solution to the photographers(Artist). If the images are stolen, there's no proof of ownership. It's difficult to prove the image ownership unless you have legally registered the image with the government. Unfortunately, the registrars don't do much beyond registering your images. For photographers, its financially not possible to legally register and pay for thousands of images.

This is where blockchain comes in. The ability to securely store copyright information on the blockchain is ideal. Once the information is registered, it cannot be altered. All of this can be done using SmartContracts. The SmartContract can also receive payments for the images or any artwork that is for sale. 

Secondly, all payments received by the contracts are final with no scope of reversing the payments. The artist receives the payment instantly.

Along with copyright information, we will also provide a monitoring system for images. The artist will be able to track who uses their images, who bought it and everything in between. The true power of using decentralized blockchain system.

We have released an alpha version of the platform: http://alpha.stockblock.io

The images used on the alpha version are random images. It has nothing to do with medicine.

Thank you for supporting our project. We are very much excited about this project and hope for the best. We are not here to scam people but provide a solution to the copyright infringement problems for the media artist. We have started as a small team but we will grow with the community support.

How are you going to achieve reliable tracking? What if I take a screenshot of an image and not download the image itself, how are you going to recognize someone abuses the image? Is that possible?

The system uses perceptual hashing to identify similar images. Please check our algorithm test page: https://stockblock.io/fingerprint/

The system uses perceptual hash/ Fingerprint to identify an image. The system can identify images even after the image has been seriously altered. The similarity score defines how similar the image is. So similarity score above 90 is the same image.

This fingerprint is used to find duplicates in the platform itself. The same fingerprint is used to find/monitor the images on the internet. The monitoring system will be a background process. The system will crawl the internet and find images and report the same to the photographers monitoring dashboard. The photographer can decide what actions need to take regarding the infringement.

We do not have a huge budget to create the hype or have a PR team resources to attract investors. Nor do we have a huge list of advisors. We received a lot of emails offering paid promotions from blog post to getting listed on top ICO listing websites. We also received emails from "advisors" willing to join the team in exchange for bitcoins. The packages where from 0.5 BTC to 5 BTC and more.

We are a small team with vision, MVP product, and a roadmap.
