MYTILINEOS and QEnergy sign a PPA via WePower

MYTILINEOS’ Renewables & Storage Development (RSD) Business Unit and QEnergy (part of ION Holdings) have executed a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) on WePower’s renewable energy procurement and trading platform.

Under the 10-year contract, QEnergy has purchased the energy production from the 18.7MW Wagga 2, the second stage of the Wagga North Solar Farm in New South Wales.

The transaction is based on WePower’s standardised contractual architecture, which not only enables easier transaction execution but also provides offtakers with the ability to offer innovative retail energy products based on this PPA – so-called Retail PPAs.

I will start with the general update and answer questions that were recieved before going in to second part of q&a here

First of all it has been a good start of the year With Wagga closing and more on the way as well as delivering Private or secondary marketplace to Mojo where this project will be avaliable for their customers! It has been a great start of the year with market noticing what we do and more customers contacting us for deployments arround the world. A good change of pace from 2020

Q: Are there any dealers interested in the secondary market?

A: Yes with all of them interested using Elemental in conjunction with the secondary transaction as it allows for optimized internal operations of the retailer and delivering an amazing product to clients.

Q: Will WePower seek approval of the WPR token as financial means at BAF in Germany?

Code:

When the time comes, currently it is not on the priority list. We tend not to spend resources on activities that are not immidiately required for operations.

Q: Does elemental use WPR ? If not , will be any change in the future in WPR utility?

Code:

A: Currently it does not, as it is the secondary marketplace and works with internal systems of utilities that are still hessitant about blockchain in general but with more of them using Elemental it could play a significant role.

Q:Has the development for donation pool been start/completed or not a focus?

Code:

Untill the 3rd transaction completion it will not be a development priority as the focus will remain on better product for more transactions

Q: To this point, let's say the 3rd transaction will be completed sometime in June...After that development will start on the product related to Donation pool? How much time does it take to complete donation pool after 3rd transaction?

It could take anywhere from 3 to 6 month depending on the team avaliability as delivery of Elemental deploymnets

According to the latest insights from the UN Climate Change report, limiting atmospheric warming to 1.5 degrees celsius before the end of the century is still within reach but requires a calculated and consistent reduction in carbon dioxide emissions that is unlikely to be met through the strategies currently employed. According to research from COP26 Glasgow, temperature rises are expected to top 2.4C by the end of this century, based on the short-term goals of participating countries.
To achieve 1.5C, approaches to carbon and greenhouse gas emission reduction must be effective. Financial approaches have been the focus of UN Climate Summits, however, approaches focused on technological innovation should also be considered.

Good Day/Morning everyone! I hope evveryone had some good time off.

Lets start today with something that matters most for the majority of you - WPR.

It was a very busy year for the team to build a sustainable business and based on what we have achieved thus far we are taking some time now to review and renew the approach to WPR as a key component for future growth. While some things still have to come into it's place, it is safe to say that with the upcoming updates we anchor WPR in to our business model deeper.

In the future we see WPR as one of our competitive advantages rather than something only interesting to a broader audience of crypto enthusiasts.

I know we are eager for new exchanges and we are in contact with the exchanges we want to be listed on but it means also finalizing the exact functionality and utility of the token. As some of you might know there is a large legal part involved in the process of listing. From our previouse experience we want to be sure and avoid as many uncertinties in this area as possible.

For this we need to finalize our long term token strategy as we are willing to beuild a partnershil with exchanges and other service providers to make participation in WPR as smooth as possible.

With this said, we come to a conclusion that our team needs reinforcement and we will start 2022 by filling the position of a Token manager. I hope to see applications coming from you here, and for sure, being a community member will be considered as an advangage.
