In the past I've already reduced the maximum leverage for new offsite investments a number of times to discourage overleveraging and today I am disabling the ability to make new offsite investments entirely. Existing offsite investments are unaffected. Investors with offsite investments can still add to or remove from their onsite bankroll without being forced to divest their offsite portion. It is also possible to lower your offsite investment without fully removing it.

I initially invested when it was still possible to do so with 5x leverage.  The message above seems to indicate that those leveraged investments are "grandfathered in", so to speak.

Today I attempted to divest a relatively small amount from my onsite bankroll, an amount which would have left my onsite bankroll significantly larger than 1/4 of my offsite investment, but I still received the error message "That would cause you to become overleveraged. Decrease your offsite investment first."

So unfortunately it appears that it is NOT possible to divest from one's onsite bankroll without being forced to divest some (all?) of one's offsite investment, which is certainly a disappointment.

I'm wondering if the system is in error, or if this is indeed the way things are supposed to be?

That's a consequence of the maximum permitted leverage being lowered to 3:1 a while back, so it's working as expected. While nobody was forced to divest back then either, any changes to an investor's offsite bankroll were required to not exceed the new allowed leverage.

The more recent change disables adding to your offsite bankroll, but it doesn't change the maximum permitted leverage (which is still important when you reduce your onsite or offsite).

Thank you very kindly for the prompt reply.

So if I've understood you correctly the new minimum onsite bankroll is 50% of the value of the offsite bankroll (=3x leverage), is that right?

oh boy looks like we got a big site with the high bankroll. I mean common 5,863 BTC !!. Seriously? and almost 50% of it is onsite. I mean why not just put 10% of it and let others wait for a little for withdrawal. I think waiting like 4-6hours for withdrawal is also tolerable than another hack of 2,000 BTC. and by the way, I see some sites made a replica of this like stake.com made the replica of this and named it lotto.

With that said, you can actually be part of their bankroll by investing. Another one, is you are secured that bustadice has their funds covered by the owner and it is very highly likely that they will never run out of funds.
I think it is fewer here in the forum gambling sites dice that allow investing investors to put investment in the bankroll. I think they have a high ROI from your investment. That is the advantage of eldest gambling sites, they already build trust from their costumer while a newly launched will need to prove their selves just to be trusted soon. In the gambling industry, there's a lot of competitors and I think they are doing their best now.
Yes, if you will look upon most of the casinos existing here, you can count on how many of them are offering investing to their bankroll. But high ROI, I don't think so, investing in bankroll for example in bustadice won't grow your money as quick as you are thinking.

This is a long term investment and commitment that you had to agree. Competitions are everywhere and obviously with the number of casinos that has different games and others that are focused solely with dice has also its competition but bustadice remains humble being part of the top dice sites.

Since the bustadice bankroll is massive, most investors will only get a small stake in the bankroll if they invest, and thus their ROI won't be insane. But, it's a worthy trade off, since they get top notch security and accountability from two of the most trusted names in the space. 100% worth it and the best option for investing imo.
I don't think their investors are expecting a huge return from their investment at the website, for me it's like buying a stocks from a company since they will give you share of their earning and the stock price also increase like bitcoin, but it's more risky investing with crypto instead of stocks.
Well at least they have some savings and they are getting some profit from the site even if they aren't gambling,
I really like the idea of investing in a gambling site just imagine if you invested in their early stage and they made it like BaB that has been operating for almost 5 or already 5 years now.
You already have your ROI and pretty much earn a huge profit already,
The only problem in investing in a gambling site is if they wouldn't last long and if they run out of gamblers in their site.

Onsite investments are investments that are actually deposited to bustadice as opposed to offsite investments, which just increase the investor's share of the profits and losses without actually being deposited. However, the majority of the site's funds are still in a cold wallet, i.e. there aren't 2,000+ BTC in the hot wallet right now.

Yes, that's correct. In other words you can have 2 BTC offsite for every 1 BTC you have onsite.

I don't know why but I prefer to invest into bustabit more Cheesy.
No worries, bustadice and bustabit, both has good track of record and no competition intended.  Smiley
They are both manage by the same person so why would you even be worried about it?
And they have told it on the very first post on this thread .
But if you can invest why not invest in both of the site .

This dice game looks amazing but definitely had to do some research before trying.
Had some research? Well if you do really hobby is to research first then you should start now. But, for me and for everyone that try the bustabit it is very legitimate and very fair. It is just I am enjoying when I am playing bustadice and bustabit.

Congratulations on finding a site you are happy with.

Bustabit and Bustadice both have excellent reputations but so do Bitsler, Stake and Primedice but always do your research before you part with your crypto.

Not much into doing research in this site.
All you can really do is check the user profiles who have used the site and see if they are in profile and for how long.
Following the chat also helps because mostly there is someone is saying they have had a winning streak in the past couple of rolls and when they just see straight reds across the board being under the 1.50x multiplier.

A fairly simple-looking, looks like a handy site. However, users should be informed more about security and should be more transparent to users.

Also, the statistics table looks quite confused.

What specifically do you suggest bustadice should be more transparent about?

In my opinion the statistics table is very straight-forward, but I'm happy to explain if you have any questions.

It's just a bunch of randoms shitposting nonsense trying to get their post count up. bustabit is the most transparent gambling site with the easiest to understand stats, imo. bitcointalk has become a cesspool  Cry

I like gambling. Probably currently trying to figure out how to pay next month's rent.

It's not strange if I were to say. Forum users like that only want their post count increase to meet the maximum post per week that is why you find it strange.

Actually the fact they have competitor website referral links in the signature is what I referred to. I misused the word strange. I should have used shameless because they post in competitor websites just to advertise their own websites.

You have a 777 referral link in your signature and profile information, others have their own employee links.

We all have our own opinions surrounding this subject.

I don't really get those people. Look I have a signature too, I do write on this forum and get paid for it, that is all fine because after all you are doing a work and making money for it.

However, there are two ways you can do this and nothing more, either you will write stuff you already about to and just get paid for something you would normally do yourself without even getting paid (which is the ideal scenario) or at the very least if you are going to force yourself to finish the post count then at least do your research and actually write something that will help people and who knows maybe even go for good quality that will get you merit too!

Bustadice as "dice" game is a lot different then all other dice websites and here it is shitposters talking about they have to do more research on one of the biggest games in all of crypto, well even if you want to do that, go do it don't announce it here.

I hate these people because it makes all of us legit users who love to talk about stuff and happen to get paid for it look like we are one of them, we are not!
