FYI,

The whole reason this sub forum was created was to keep postings about "alt coins" from appearing spamming cluttering up the main Bitcoin Forum.

I can't remember which one but I specifically remember there was a Mod (Maged??) that openly protested the creation of this forum and wanted to simply shitcan all alt post.

Theymos created this forum as an alternative trash can and that's what it is.

Anyone else concur?

To clarify, I didn't protest the creation of this board, but I did say that if this board wasn't made, that trashing the posts was the only alternative. But yeah, this board was made as an alternative to trashing these posts.

On the plus side, deleting posts in here is a huge stress reliever.

Hazard is just a troll, trying to prove some point using the same methods as TradeFortress used to prove ripple was dodgy.

If TradeFortress is still around when some users reported actual loss of wealth after they took part in his "experiment", there is no way hazard should be banned for fooling people into spending a couple $ in electricity to gain useless coins.

I personally thank him for showing how easy it is to change a few parameters in Bitcoin/Litecoin code and make your own currency.

No clone coins/scam coins will be taken seriously from now on, except only by the true idiots.

Only the innovative coins will survive, that will push people to innovate, which brings great things to all of us.

Why is this a response to my post? I am in support of altcoins and innovation through them. I just think it would help reputation if we had a little bit of censoring (YES I REALLY SAID CENSORING!) of coins like Porncoin, Vagcoin, dickcoin, asscoin, things that are not appropriate and will turn people off from the process with the snap of a finger. To that, theres a new angel investment group that is shelling craptons of cash into bitcoin.. So, I dont think most bitcoiners even make it in to the altcoin forum.

Most people should be turned off from the process. We don't want investors taking altcoins seriously, because they will fail miserably and avoid altcoins altogether. Altcoins that are successful will get press outside of this forum and be taken seriously then, like Litecoin.

The ignore feature on this forum does have its purpose.  The different shading of the Ignore link for quite a few forum members shows that it is being used.  If you don't like what someone has to say, you can chose to ignore them.  If you don't like the coins they have created, don't mine them.  

Sure you could make the case that suckers will then fall for pump & dump schemes/coins and, but reading through just the first few pages of this Alt forum should be enough to make anyone wary of where the point their hashes. Many people invested with Pirateat40 when you could clearly see that really WAS a ponzi from a mile away, and still others will claim until they are blue in the face that so it Bitcoin, although I disagree with that last one.

PS - I have to admit I think Hazard does add to the entertainment factor of this sub-forum too /shrugs.
