That was a bug in the Windows default viewer. That bug is fixed, but theoretically that can still happen for buggy software if you download a picture from anywhere else it's not recompressed. For example, if this sort of bug still existed and someone sent you an image as a file in TG, you downloaded and then opened it, the conequences would be identical to doing the same after downloading it from Oyster

Why is crypto money going out (2mil) instead of in. Whats the partnership?
Every company wants that now. Its not whom verge partnered with that gets me. Its Fortune, Mashable, TheVerge, and Forbes publishing a ready-made article talking about it. And I’m like, “am I the only one seeing what is truly happening here?”

Beta testing Is still underway on the website monetization. It could be ready or it might not be ready. The team wants to make sure everything is dialed in as well as possible before opening it to the public.

Devs will be developing their own sharding solution for the Oyster tangle. This would fall under optimization of mainnet. I think that will hold a lot of their attention.

Where do you think all their money is going?  That plus some insider information being passed along.

Oyster PRL is meant to be a stable asset, due to the peg to anonymous decentralized encrypted storage.

However, the dapp layer of Oyster is a part of the oyster roadmap and was already mentioned in the whitepaper of PRL, but due to the peg, PRL cannot be used to pay for operations and connectivtiy on the Oyster meshnet formed by webnodes.

Therefore another token is needed. Oyster SHL will be used to pay for the dapp operations and connectivity in the Oyster meshnet (and so PRLs keep restricted to the peg of storage.)

This could be links to your interest, if you want to know more about Oyster SHL:

https://medium.com/oysterprotocol/shell-shl-update-and-new-hires-87978ad687a9 - SHL announcment

Our two explanation videos should help you to get a general idea of the usecases of botch tokens and how they differ from each other:

But it doesn't show any sign of improvement for price and volume. How would they fix that problem?
I think it was overhyped for some reason and that's why we don't like the current price.

Between mainnet launch and IOTA implementing sharding/swarm we will propp up our own tangle.

If you are interested into the details you can see a comment Automyr gave regarding the current speed/storage of Oyster.
https://www.reddit.com/r/Oyster/comments/89sgor/question_about_storage/dwtbbkd/

If you use the testnet right now (http://oysterstorage.com/) it is still using the maintangle - the transactions have the obsolete tag OYSTERTESTNETB if you want to view your upload e.g. on tangle.glumb.de

I work in disability sector, they have unlimited amount data needs to be achieved nationwide. You talk to tec support and most have no idea about the blockchain..
Once oyster protocol is proven, I think marketing would be simple.
Could see business buying prl at wholesale, and selling storage at retail..

That's what I want, just a user friendly linux system. I'm working in terminals whole day long. Don't want to do things the hard way every time Smiley

look at exchanges by volume kucoin is no33. exchanges that have lower volumes earn less revenue thus less money and incentive to updated their platform, plus they are a third party with your coins so they cannot be trusted, remember bitgrail? mtgox?

Oyster is giving hope to the online advertisement world, Adblocker migth be against this, with proper segmentation of online advert everyone will be satisfy, unnecessary advert pop up can be so frustrating to website surfing. sure oyster team will meet the needs of everyone, that is both the advert agency and the website user. Why is this always brought up. The expected behavior in here is pretty clear. We made another venue for our members to almost say whatever they want. Hell the admins are even being insulted in there and we let it go. But we are trying to change the culture in this channel, from one of nonsensical doom and gloom talk to being a place of intelligent rational logical discussion. Price talks constantly snow ball out of control and snuff out any constructive conversation.

While i agree FUD and purely speculative price discussion doesn’t belong here, the dictation and censorship of discussion comes off negatively IMO. Especially for a project that aims to bypass “political and corporate censorship” with their project

Oyster has two testnets and a mainnet on schedule for release this month. More importantly we solve two legitimate problems. Eventually our protocol won't even need the average user to know anything about crypto in order to use it. This increases adoption potential
