What happens if someone presses "send coins" at the exact time the new round begins but due to slow network the money arrives only after the round has ended (e. g. 1 hour and 8 min. later)?

I believe the entry is processed as soon as mybitcoin sees the transaction come across (doesn't wait for confirmations).... so it shouldn't ever be an issue unless you try to send while not connected to the network.

using the client I usually have 8 connections

last week I had two payments which didn't get a single confirmtation for hours

one was a very small one 0.002 if remember correctly the other one more then 5 BTC

in the counter client there were no "grey" unconfirmed payments either till the first confirmaton showed up in the sending client, so I doubt that there is no problem...

old ponzi type communities

Plenty of ponzi-lovers there, although I'm not sure how many have heard of bitcoin yet.

I don't go that far back (Just looked it up on Wikipedia). I was into the big travel sites, like tvi, clubfreedom, getawayclub, etc.

I was always poor, so I took a risk and applied for as many credit cards as they would give me and maxed them all out. Made a small fortune and started to invest in stocks and now i'm doing pretty good for myself since.

Which is why I love programs like King of the Hill and some others on here.
I just need to keep reminding myself.. .  "Fortune favors the brave!"

I figured you were around during that time as well, becasue of the king of the hill domain name "surf", but seems like you took a different route. lol

I was making so much money, my bank called me up interrogating me. I was like "WTF?? You think i'm printing fake checks from my home computer or something??"

Then the lady responds with "Well, I don't know, you tell me!"
lol

She asked, who was my employer, and I said " I don't know, his name is John something"
She goes "YOU DONT KNOW WHO YOUR EMPLOYER??!?!"

I was pretty heated at the time, but thinking back it's kind of funny lol

I wonder how much that John guy ended up running away with anyway haha.

It was an interesting scheme... From what I could remember, it took about 3 months to break even to get your money back, and then everything after that was pure profit. I got in about 1 year before they quit paying people. Didn't make a ton, but would have been nice if they'd kept it going for just a few more months Tongue

It's been about a year for me too or maybe slightly longer, but yeah, im sure he made off with at least a million. I was part of the lowest tier of their live support staff and we all got screwed over too.

I was pretty surprised they created StudioPay though, then again, he prob never even had the applied for the license for it.

Ok, it seems like the bitcoin community has lost interest in doublers, which is sad because I thought I had a good game going here.

I'm going to let them run till the end of the week, and then I'm going to take King of the Hill offline, and turn King Of the Mountain into 1 week-long rounds and just leave it running, so feel free to promote that one like crazy.

Please let me know if you have any feedback or requests.

I'm working on my own doubler. You pick a number 1-5 and if you pick the number you win double your bet. Won't be up for a couple weeks. Hopefully people play.

I'm working on my own doubler. You pick a number 1-5 and if you pick the number you win double your bet.

So you have a 20% chance of winning 2x? That's very low odds.

BTC Riches is basically 'just a number', it's a 1 in 8 chance of winning 7x.

It's not that people lost interest, i mean there are other games out there that is dominating. There one problem you need to fix if you're going to keep it such short ending. If you look at the time people place their bets, they done it within a few seconds from when the round started. However, making it last a week wouldn't be a bad idea.

hey herbert, maybe reconsider closing koth and make them both variable ending times with at least a couple days like mtrev is talking about and have hill as low roller and mountain as high roller.  Maybe lower the ratio from 2x down a bit to maybe like 1.5-1.75?  He's got a point, and unlike the other automated ones, yours is completely developed already with everything worked out and safe.
