Wow, this is good news to hear. It means the demand for bitcoin is increasing in your city. Out of curiosity, what is the fees for buying and selling Bitcoin using the atm in your city?

IMO, if the fee is less than 10%, it is still reasonable for the conveniences.

They are provided by the same issuer or there are several brands for these ATM machines?

Buying bitcoin fee is around usually around 10%-25% depending on the ATM. Some ATM have 3% fee. There are a few different brands.

Selling bitcoin is 0% fee.

I get really depressed when I read things like this. My country has 4 bitcoins machines so I consider myself really lucky to live in a city with one Smiley Hopefully the trend will come to other parts of the world as well.

Bitcoin ATMs are the most underrated form of buying/selling Bitcoin there is. It is just too bad the rates tend to be much higher than other methods.

Where are you from OP? 50% increase in four months, that's a pretty rapid expansion, especially considering there were only 3 a few years ago.

We have a grand total of 4 in my country, and in rather close proximity to each other. I wish there was one in my vicinity because I honestly have no idea how one would work. Do they give better rates than your local exchanges, or are they charging a hefty convenience fee? Are there maximum withdrawal amounts?

Due to the fact that gradually the bitcoins are accepted. And it will not prevent so that we prepare new henarasyo that money is no longer needed and our world will be measured fairly poor not rich. Let us now prepare that the world will not be covered by evil and will not rob us. This is the beginning of the crypto revolution and we will soon be able to use it

How I wish there'd be Bitcoin ATM machines in our country and area too. At least I won't have to transfer my funds to my bank and then withdraw it from the machine. Hopefully there'd be Bitcoin Debit Card too so I can just place my money there and don't really have to go far and travel just to get my cash.

The bank option is a no go for many BTC users. It defeats the whole purpose of anonymity. BTC cash machines are installed by 3rd party and theoretically you can do your transactions without government monitoring you. And anyway if you don't have problems using your bank account you can get payments from some exchanges directly to it and you can buy BTC with your card.

Bitcoin ATM's have made a big change in the accessibility of bitcoin as well other conventional money. I'm not sure about the present atm implementation, but in the past ATM's had a high transaction fee for which several ATM's around different parts of the world has been taken away from usage.

There's more ATMs in my area as well, I've only used it once and it's quite a fascinating experience to see it operate smoothly see the physical manifestation of the blockchain and also it's great way to raise awareness to Bitcoin too.

There are only 2 ATMs at the moment in my country and all of this 2 are in our capital city. It's a bit depressing to see that almost all of our neighboring countries have more ATMs.

I am very excited to hear that there is rapid increase in Bitcoin ATM in some countries. I just have to celebrate with the citizens of those countries. In my country we do not have anything like Bitcoin ATM so I only see it on the internet. I am only having hope that one day we will have Bitcoin ATM in my  country.

With a considerable increase of Bitcoin ATM machines, I don't think that it automatically translates to growth but an opportunity for these businessmen to lure out new people in the Bitcoin world. With my personal experience the exchange rates in Bitcoin atms are not fair favoring the business owner of the atm machines. Even though it is not safe I would still recommend people in selling their own Bitcoin or buying Bitcoin in another way aside from using Bitcoin atms.

in the small country i'm living in there are a whole 20 BTC atm machines and, by the look of it (there is only one in my city) people likes it a lot, you can always find somebody using it.
Weird enough in my home country (Italy) there are only 11 and not a single one in capital city or big city like Milan

On my province there is no such thing yet. I'm in a small province with 6 towns only. And As far as I know, we who uses bitcoins here only convert it to fiat via remittances and banks .

I remember it was a topic with some luxury things we can buy with BTC,and there is also mentioned ATM machine. It seems to be a very profitable investment because ROI is less than a year, but it depends where is ATM located, big or small city.

If we look in map of available ATMs in the world USA is convincingly in the first place with 1028 ATMs,Canada is following with 257 ATMs and best Europe country is UK followed by Austria and Spain. It is interesting that Japan have only 16 location so far, considering they have some big plans for cryptocurrency this number should go up in future.

I wish there were one in my area. Even if there aren't many users, the exposure should benefit everyone in the future. If I've been hearing about Bitcoins for a while now and I see a Bitcoin atm while strolling somewhere, I'd google that for sure.

It's a good news for bitcoin world. Here in my place, there is only one Bitcoin ATM. It's been 3 years now since I found out that this city has it, but until now it remains the only one machine, so far there are still no additionals. Hopefully, a lot of people also here will have an interest in it in the coming years.

With proper rules and regulations coming in support of Bitcoin, government is ready to give people facilities related to Bitcoin and one such thing is Bitcoin ATM. You can mark this as a beginning of new era. With the coming of Bitcoin ATM, Bitcoin can easily be exchanged and the best fastest way to exchange for local currencies. Also, it will help the locals to know more about Bitcoin and soon Bitcoin transactions at local stores may be more frequent than ever.

To my knowledge there is a great interest for bitcoin in the Philippines based on how many users are interested in faucets from there. If you click on link I posted above you will see that is 4 ATMs in Philippines and all are in Manila.Since the Philippines a state with a lot of islands, many far away from capital only 4 ATMs is in any case not enough. But if you visit Manila use that map to find one of available.

It is a no surprise for me to see that the rate of atm of bitcoins is growing rapidly because it is too obvious that bitcoin is getting better and better and soon the people will accept it more than what we expect and if bitcoin will have a stronger foundation from its community and other supporters then we can just see rapid increased in bitcoin atms but also in adoption.

You all are very lucky, because in my city, there is none!! Embarrassed

We are two in00, no BTC ATM's were I live, and I am pretty sure that most people here don't really know about BTC. But it's reat to hear that some countries are adopting it and making it easy to transact BTC to fiat and vice-versa! Hopefully BTC suffers the globalization and more countries start getting into BTC and exploring it's beauty!

I think this is a good thing in places where in people accepts Bitcoin and are open to the idea of decentralized currency, in my country, we do not have Bitcoin ATMs, what we do is to print them out and use paper wallets, if we wanted to hold them, but its a good thing that we have at codes, wherein some establishments just scan the code if we would like to use bitcoins as payment. An increase it Bitcoin ATMs only means that a lot of people are beginning to use bitcoins for transactions and soon, Bitcoin ATMs will be scattered as well just like ATMs we use with banks, hopefully we see them in my country someday.

There is nothing to get surprise in this.Mass adoption of bitcoin is taking place all over the world.Day by day, more people are getting crazy to know about bitcoin.Earlier, only few people knew about bitcoin. So,there was no need for more bitcoin ATMs to be installed. But now, with increasing bitcoin users, industries related to bitcoin is rapidly increasing and new companies were entering the crypto field.Similarly, service providing companies have also found bitcoin field as an ever growing business. So,they have started to install large number of bitcoin ATMS.

In 2013-2014, there was 3 machines.

That's good to hear. Looking at the growth and emergence of bitcoin atm all over the world, and not to mention, there are also other atm that supports bitcoin. It warms my heart and gives me assurance that we are moving to the top and regardless of other countries making a scene with banning bitcoins, we know the world sides with us. This is a sign that bitcoin is growing.

Bitcoin ATM implementation all around the world gives positive energy to the users. This provides them the easier accessing opportunity, and can roam around just holding the cards. But surely this would be having certain limitations in the usage for certain services as well purchase.

I would have even like to contact the bitcoin ATM companies personally for them to consider bringing the bitcoin ATM to my country. It will be a very fertile ground for them but our government and central bank are still confuse over the issue of bitcoin. But I know we will have a technologically enlighten government official that will understand the concept of blockchain technology in future.

Trend is definitely quite good here. Once the scalabillity issuse is addressed in the proper way, i suspect we will see the real explosion of those - maybe even introduction on regular ATM-s which would be a blast.

Buying bitcoin fee is around usually around 10%-25% depending on the ATM. Some ATM have 3% fee. There are a few different brands.

Selling bitcoin is 0% fee.
What country are you talking about btw? I've just found an article that lists the average fee on Bitcoin ATM's and it's nowhere near the percentage that you mention.

The average fee on Bitcoin ATMs in 2016 was 7.5% and 923 machines were tested in total.

Usually the fees are below 10% and I can't imagine anyone paying a 25% fee to buy Bitcoin.

That shows the popularity of bitcoins. Well in my country people are still unknown about the crypto currency. Its still under developing country here we can sell n buy bitcoins from merchants that have invested and they sell it on great profits. There are no atm machines still here. I wish we could have some.

His profile indicates that he might be in Romania. Maybe Tszunami98 can confirm?
Still 7% fee is high, really, don't want to sound like cheap but I would rather convert my BTC to Euros and transfer to my bank account.
Fees should go down though as BTC becomes more adopted and if ATM are to be found in more and more places...

Wow, it seems like some places are really increasing the amount of ATM's.
Do you guys know if fees are set by manufacturer or person that owns the ATM?
Is there a slit anywhere of all the ATM's?

Your typical bitcoin exchange is more convenient, and it charges less fees. You will in all likelihood only use the bitcoin ATM once to try it and then never touch one again.

No, he is not from Romania, he claims to be from Canada

Here in Canada, the price of the bitcoin is approx $3,100 Canadian dollars. However, the ATM gives you a rate of approx $4,100. I deposited $100 and got back $77 worth of BTC. Is this the normal rate?

But I kind a doubt this since his profile looks more like a farming account with that 50/50 activity/posts.
At least we pinpointed the country now people from Montreal or Toronto maybe Vancouver can tell us if there are indeed 92 ATMs there.
Either way the fees are outrageous:

I'm sure it will happen in due time.I have heard once that it my country there is already one bitcoin atm machine but my province is very too far from that area so i'm still hoping that putting nearby an atm machine may be very beneficial to all bitcoin users in our area since there are really lot in here spread out all over the province.

Bitcoin ATM 's are not in my country, still lot of time require to get the ATM facility, long way to go.

Same here, I didn't have chance to use it but it is exciting me very much as a concept. Just to think about cashing my coins when I needed. I'm living in a little town I do not expect to see it here but major places should have many of those atms.

In my city, there was 62 bitcoin machines in June. Now there is 92 ATM machines around the city. Crazy.
In 2013-2014, there was 3 machines.

Yes definitely its a rapid growth.  I just wonder where you are right now because here in my country, not even a single bitcoin machine was installed.  It must be like a paradise for everyone of you who are using bitcoins since it is easy for you to buy and sell bitcoins.  Considering further that there are many atm for bitcoins then establishments there are using and accepting bitcoin as payment.

Bitcoin ATMs are mostly growing in europe but unfortunately in asian countries there are still some lack of possibilities to cashout bitcoins. In my country there are still no options except local traders.

This is a good news about the increase in the bitcoin ATM in your country, I'm much impressed to hear this. I believe that the more the popularity of bitcoin get increase from one nation to another the facilities like the ATM are increase more people start seeing the benefits of bitcoin and they begin to adopt it. Other countries will have no choice than to adopt it.

Glad to see bitcoin are growing and some countries start working with crypto currency and making ATM machines for bitcoin users. First there was a china who were building ATM machines but now every country start taking a part on it and making there own. I wish our governments also make some atms I wish there were one in my area where i can cash out.

Although Bitcoin is not legalized in my country yet but there still some Bitcoin ATM in my city Smiley) But I think it's no needed cause we only can use Bitcoin ATM to sell or buy Bitcoin anonymous but we also can use our smartphone and computer to do it very easily in everywhere but you only can use Bitcoin ATM at the place it's located.
