I assume you try to buy into good projects, that you have some kind of faith in.
You buy them because you think they will be a good investment.
A good project will still be a good project whether btc forks or not, why would you sell?

Agreed. If you do not like the investment idea behind an altcoin, you should not invest in the first place. Take a step back and consider if the fork will really impact your altcoin's valuation, and even if so, how long will it be affected? Bearing in mind that many coins have bounced back well after an initial setback. |

I took the question to mean should they sell altcoins and put in in Bitcoin before the fork.
If that's the question, then I'm wondering the same thing. Seems like Bitcoin Cash was free money if you had any Bitcoin sitting around.
I plan on keeping the alts I really believe in (DeepOnion) but selling some I keep floating around and loading up on Bitcoin before the fork. I have some XRP I have that I'll probably flip into Btc and then back to XRP after the fork. Just my two cents.

No you should hoard it except for those altcoins that looks like scrap or no progress for how many months in which mostly more than beyond 100 in rank but for those top 10 you should hoard them and wait. Bitcoin had experienced lot of crisis including this one before so altcoins should follow the path then lets just wait and see. |

Just try to look at the coinmarketcap and try to see about the chart and where it goes, if you are seeing green chart and youi must sell your coin. |

I wouldn’t sell. I would buy cheap altcoins instead because you can find some great bargains at the moment. When the market rebounds after the fork, you could make more money than if you bought bitcoin, which is at an ath now, another reason not to buy it.

Bitcoin had experienced lot of crisis including this one before so altcoins should follow the path then lets just wait and see. correction maybe showing now with btc value and alts are starting to gain some good green positive movements so those good and quality coin got a big potentials to bounce back its all about timing and knowing which coins are really progressing and have a positive growth together with btc. |

Depends, since I have some btc left. Not too much but still enough and getting hard to decide what alt to sell I'll hold, but others were selling their alts to buy btc to have some freebies on fork. |

Why do you have to sell it if it is a good coin? The value of coin is dependent on bitcoin but there is a lot of coin when the bitcoin decreases and its value increases. Why sell it? I think this before the fork if you are holding some coin then you should store them through the tie because now most of the coin current is lower than the original price because people are holding the bit get new bitcoin copper but the field at the drop then it will probably increase so do not worry too much for this. And you are storing bitcoin, I recommend you use one third of your account to buy the coin at a very cheap price after the fork will be a pretty big deal.

Its noobness to sell alt coin for loss just to get the Bitcoin gold which is fork of BTC. I think better wait and watch. Only see those which you can buy back at same price else you will regret if coin moons!  |

Nobody know what will be the outcome of the fork even bitcoin gold team can not tell you expressly that nothing would go wrong. Albeit, I will advice you not to sell your value alt for passing fork or, you might regret it!
