LOL your title is funny anyway, no I don't think bitcoin will replace gold and no there is no war coming. Where did you read all these stuffs anyways? This is not the first time a fork happened so I think you need to do a lot more research about what is coming.
You are correct actually. War won't take place but still in a situation like war, it is hard to get food properly and at hat time it is nearly impossible to connect to internet and sell bitcoins or use them. So gold is always better then bitcoin at such situation and even peoples will try to collect gold as much as possible

Let me burst your bubble, if there is war both Bitcoin and gold might end up being useless in the long run. Imagine a nuclear bomb Wipeout and the fallout, people will be more interested in useful commodities for survival than precious metal or Bitcoin that will not even have internet to survive.

As we have seen with previous wars, not all countries are involved, so with Bitcoin being decentralized globally, there will be

a pretty good chance that it would still be running in one of these neutral countries. So if you want to protect your wealth, it

will be a good idea to keep it on the Blockchain and not buried in the ground, where nuclear fallout will radiate the earth for

100 years.   Roll Eyes

Will the bitcoin replace the Gold? If there is A war coming everyone will run to the Bitcoin instead of the gold?

Cheers

To my own point of view, the only reason people will run to bitcoin is because gold is solid and needs strength to use in carrying it around, and needs a safe place to keep it which must have a security to guard it, but bitcoin is weightless and cannot be tracked by movement, all necessary details are carried and controlled by the owner.

bitcoin is a decentralized digital currency while gold is jewelery for women. gold is a physical asset while bitcoin has no physical existence. both have there values but one cant replace other coz both are different in nature.

There are lots of topic about what is BTC in this forum. But if there is a war, people would not buy BTC intstead of gold. Because people dont have sufficiently knowledges about BTC yet. Maybe after ten or fifteen years later, it will be happened.

IF there was a war and I needed to flee the country, which asset do you think would be easier and more secure to transport?
Bitcoin

There you go.

This are two different things and don't affect each other. Best thing with bitcoin is it decentralize.

Maybe he is busy roaming the Politics and Society section that he is thinking that US and its allies are going to war North Korea. Just stay out of that section because there's a lot of mind control going on in their. LOL.

For me Gold will remain as the only hedge against war. I read somewhere that you have to allocate at least 5-10% of your assets on gold. And according to history, England paid its debts during the war in Golds or to buy materials like Iron to sustain their effort in WW2. But bitcoin offers a different advantage though, you can't bring you gold bars on the other side in case you want to flee war torn country. You can have your hardware wallet though or smart phone, cross the border and there you have it, convert your bitcoin to fiat and stay away from the war.  Grin

Your title asks a different question, your post tells a different story, in case if war, first thing people would do is to save their lives, and if you're referring to Korea and USA war it's not going to happen ever. However let's say war will happen, I feel people will move to gold and Bitcoin equally as both shall rise. Bitcoin may be effected to, if the country has a good amount of Bitcoins and bash. I really don't think a war will do any good to Bitcoin.

No, gold is a physical thing you can hold in your hand. Bitcoin is electronic data. It is stored on the blockchain for everyone to see. Everyone cannot see all the gold. The blockchain cannot be manipulated unless there is someone who controls over 51% of the mining power. Gold can be melted and turned into other material. Both are hard to change. Gold and Bitcoin are similar in some regards, but also very different.

There is always a war somewhere, but I don't believe it has any effect on whether people want gold or bitcoin.

You topic title doesnt corresponds on the thing you are talking into your post. What is bitcoin? Then use google and you would see About 85,800,000 results (0.61 seconds) regarding bitcoin. This is only the answer if we do speak on topic title and now going on your post on bitcoin against gold.Theres no war but yet people would really  make some comparison among two things when it comes on investment opportunities.

Consider this scenario, there is a nuclear warfare and almost everything is destroyed something like fallout situation. Then decide which currency, BTC or gold, will still be surviving.
It's obvious, gold. BTC is nothing without digital technology, without internet it's nothing but few hashes. In a apocalyptic situation BTC is not a good option.

It seems to me that there is no substitute for something that works and has existed for x years. Actually the bitcoin is still growing and its course is good but it can only affect the market but not change for example gold. Soon it might be interesting.

Well, Bitcoin is an Electronic Currency that we use nowadays. Well, It doesn't mean that bitcoin is the new gold, For me, bitcoin is built for people to have an international currency. Because most of the country nowadays use bitcoin or accept it.
