OK, so they're executing trades, but so far I'm not seeing any data on Sierra Chart or bitcoincharts.com...

If all the sovereign non-cryptocurrencies will eventually collapse from hyperinflation, you can't afford *not* to invest in Bitcoin...  See my blog at http://minetopics.blogspot.com/ .

For all the people who ask why not move to TH, this is why:
"vol":4265.74570611

TH current volume: 2322

Gox is limping here, and it's already ahead.

That said tho....really hoping we see another exchange that can rival these volumes.

Yeah, it's already pushing $14, so SOMETHING has happened -- a drop of about $1.50 in 3 or 4 hours.

Not earth-shattering, but we sure haven't seen much excitement on Tradehill in the past week -- the volume is so low.

I'd say only a second gox would make people (including myself) begin to think about it.

a flood of volume on gox is to be expected in the first hours after they re-opened.   I believe a lot of people who had their bankrolls tied up in gox will be switching to TH in the coming days

about to break $14

I'm guessing it'll drop to around 10.50 to rise back up to 12 by this evening.

I doubt it will fall that far.  I am hoping for 12 but I think there are enough people out there willing to pay more than that for the price to drop too much below 14.  Though most of my money is on 13 and 12 for the time being.

There's also been a quiet stillness in the market that keeps tradehill's volume low.

We were at 8.00$ less than a month ago, some profit taking is totally reasonable especially considering the "extreme events" we seen recently. Not saying it must correct towards 8$ but im sure some ppl who bought in at ~8-10 will take this opportunity to exit at a profit.

They could turn on the websocket so the charts can see what's going on and not turn on the API.

The graph on their site isn't even working .. even though it's not that helpful.

I really don't think so. You have been able to move funds for a day or so now. If people were moving, I think they would have already done so. IMO, people are afraid of going with a small site for fear of running into another scalability/security problem.

You don't have to trade to move your bankroll.

No but you have to sell your BTC to make some cash.  And the only place you can do that is on MTGox.  Expect the price to drop a few more dollars before the rebound.  After a week of no trading.  I'm sure a few large holders are wanting some USD.  Something you can't do on Tradehill.

You don't have to trade to move your bankroll.

If you had USD trapped in MtGox, it's faster and cheaper to wait for the market opening, turn them into BTC and move BTC away than withdrawing the USD directly.

You can most certainly get USD on TradeHill.  In fact, at this second MtGox is offering 14.01 for sellers, TH is offering 14.21, so you'd have incentive not to trade on MtGox at all if you wanted to switch over to TH.
