Actually I don't understand why this ethereum is this big.Only thing is Ethereum has created platform for everyone who can code a little bit and create a contract on it.But there are many scams based on ethereum. The gas concept is a shit there.I lost 10$ for transactions.They allowed devs to enable lock option for their tokens.That is a shit.

I agree, Also when i actually have no knowledge in crypto currency and that time i'm not interested, I only knew two coins that is Bitcoin and Ethereum,  This type of coins do not need to be marketed because it will market itself since there are a lot of people  who are invested on it.
