Ethereum has seen a huge rise in its adoption as the platform new startups use in implementing their projects.
However, there are other platforms such as Waves that can do the same things Ethereum does ( even easily as Waves does not require any programming skills). Why can't new startups use the Ethereum alternatives? Is there any uniqueness in Ethereum that other platforms don't have? What makes Ethereum the in-thing?

The main reason is Smart Contracts.
Most of ICOs using this ERC20 system to produce and sell their coins. Thus, the popularity and also price of ETH increase with Smart Contracts.

Every altcoin is special, its just that lots of people are looking at etherium as the next bitcoin,
also its a bit faster to mine than bitcoin and can use cheap equipment while btc equipment is a bit high in price
that the only one thing that etherium advantage on other altcoins, but as of today, etherium is trying to conquer all
although it can fight with bitcoin there is still a slight chance to overcome bitcoin, but yes its special because they can mine it,
but once its not mineable, miners will have another special altcoin

Why Ethereum is special This is the question of many people, because of its popularity. its block chains are very strong. A lot of exchange is now trading crypto with Ethereum. Ethereum is always in the top volume after Bitcoin in the coinmarketcap. It is a good investment option of our good futures. Many people fall in love with it. Many ICO starts with ETH. My opinion Ethereum is good option for trading but not special for me.

both have virtually the same equation of smart and sophisticated technology. but the difference is that eth is more popular in comparison with waves. I think both have a brilliant future for the future. |

Because almost all altcoins project always using Ethereum platform as the token and some of ICOs also always accepting Ethereum for the investment beside bitcoin. Because it's a pyramid scam and most people can't really spell it, that would make it mysterious and special.
