the first time i just got to know bitcoin i also have not got the guts to buy bitcoin but after i start looking for information about bitcoin and have joined in social media groub and i start to see people people and friends i already have big enough income from bitcoin so i start believe that bitcoin is not a fraud. Sometimes there is a bitcoin investment site that will give bitcoin every week or month after we invest the bitcoin you have but when you invest it you do not get the bitcoin that has been promised. So if you want to invest bitcoin you have to be careful and ask first if the site is not a scam.

If you look at the history of bitcoins then you will notice that price has always moved in positive direction over a period of time so even if you buy now and hold it for next couple of years then it can give you best profits on your investments as price is expected to rise at the end of the year so that would be the right time to sell your coins at higher profits and if you manage to hold it longer then you can expect much higher profits in future.

As long as money isn't a problem and that you have that capital to invest for, I guess buying bitcoin for investments can be done without any hesitations. Just be focus on you goals and set aside that worries, so that you can stay focus and prevent panic decisions towards possible fluctuations that might happen in an instance. Having positive outlook should be maintained and that dreams of having bigger profit will be a reality in the near future, as long as you keep the attitude of having patience all the time.

I can image $2,000 isn't a small amount for people who live in severely under developed countries. But you will have to invest money to make a lot of money, that's the name of the game. Investing a mere $10 now isn't going to make you a millionaire (perhaps in 2011 it was but we're far past that stage now and will have to move on). If the person who started this thread in the first place pulled the trigger and bought bitcoin at $5000 he would have netted a juicy $2,000 per piece (assuming they sold at the all time high). Sometimes it's just more important to pull the trigger and buy instead of worrying about your entry point.

The problem with people is that they aren't understanding what changes Bitcoin is capable of forcing through in the financial world, and in terms of breaking through this currupt on debt based system. I too started out as someone being just interested in Bitcoin for speculation purposes, but once became clear what Bitcoin is actually about, I immediately took a long term position into Bitcoin. So yes, I pulled the trigger and went for it, and looking back now, it was a perfect entry point. I can however understand that people might feel unsure about entering at current levels due to the massive increase this year, but as you said, the trigger needs to be pulled, and if you don't pull the trigger, you'll be left with nothing.

Your point is valid only if you should have patience and literally forget that you have invested in bitcoin for at-least 5 years then check the returns for a good result and profit but not suitable for most of us as we are looking for short time profit and also save little towards the long term but most of us are looking for current gain.

I think I went trough a similar process. What got me interested in the first place was the monetary gain. I actually wanted to buy a game and I saw that they accepted bitcoin payments. I had heard about bitcoin before, a couple of years back, but I never dug deep enough to discover the big value bitcoin has. The more I researched bitcoin the more I became my hunger for short term money making potential faded away. I started discovering the underlying technology and I suddenly realized that I had to be a part of this revolution. That's what mainly led to me pulling the trigger and buying myself into a solid position.

Just few people who are traders are actually looking for the short term gains and trying to trade for some quick profit. However, I hope the OP was able to rent some guts to buy back in October, or else he must be having himself to blame for it now probably by listening to the advice of the person that posted below the OP.

Bitcoin is showing great sign of improvement and cannot be compared to those days when a lot of FUD can easily drag bitcoin down. What we should be seeing now are corrections and anyone who does not utilize the opportunity or does not have guts will apparently have some after a while.

In hindsight, buying bitcoin when it was worth a few hundred dollars seems to be a brilliant strategy. Who knows, in maybe a few years time people will say buying Bitcoin when it was worth a few thousand dollars would have been brilliant.
