From my research , i see a lot ICO its not scam , but fail with their project.
Their not reached/raised the soft cap and the money refunded to investor.
But some ICO not refund their money , maybe i see 10-15 ICO scam on this years  Roll Eyes Roll Eyes
But if no ICO = No Altcoins  Cheesy

indeed not all ico is a scam,
now many ico popping up and investors are increasingly confused to participate in which project

Yes there is lots of scam coins only the intention of stealing hard earned bitcoins. After one or  two attempts I learned lesson where now I am completely making research on history and market cap most importantly solution provided by the coins or token before I am going to invest after that my profit may less but having stable income . But current scenario because of bitcoin hardfork most of my coins are in loss hope will recover soon.

I don't so much agree, since we have not enough data to judge for now. No project can reach its maturity overnight, not even Bitcoin did, so the only way to distinguish between good projects and scam projects is to see how they will behave in time. As for the good coders, there will always be new good coders who will join the party.

all of these scam ico's have tens and hundreds of millions dollar but they can't push out anything. it is not about money and advertising hype in crypto world like most these scam coin or token platforms are doing right now. it's all about team and ability to code.

so, the good coders are already find or have their own place. all the new scams popping up will be pushing out nothing but take your hard earn Bitcoin. their hype scam promises should be worth nothing. take my word for it.

Well said.

I agree this time.  There are many scammer,  but who cares, as long we can chose carefully, we can get benefits from it.

Who cares about scammers. I choose ICO carefully, I read the white paper, read review of the team before participating in ICOs. I know some of them are selling token to raise money with good whitepaper. In fact, the kind of ICO will fail. Investors are know about the scammers. They will be careful to invest in ICOs. Some ICOs are legitimate too. There are mentions from other developers or figures to show that the ICOs and the projects are worthy. I hope there will be regulation that controls ICOs so investors will be guaranted in legit ICOs.

I agree as well. Money isn't all that important it is the team and the concept. You can raise 100 million, but if it makes no sense eventually you will burn that money away.

Although I am sure because of the success of some ICO's the money you have to put into marketing / getting onto exchanges has vastly increased in 6 months.

Well, I agree that good coders are needed for coins to become worth something but maybe the problem is not that there are no good coders but that some of them are not interested in cryptocurrencies while others can't find a job, because scam projects don't actually need them, for they simply want to get rich fast.
As for cryptoworld and money, surely there are other things like ideology which comes along with most of coins and that it also rather important in new projects as well.

The situation may be improving a bit with regard to the insane cap ICOs. Back in I think June they were regularly getting $100m, but those mega-cap ones seem to have slowed down now, probably after the late Summer slow crash before the btc fork. So still a problem, but maybe getting a bit better.

Who are they? you have nothing to prove ICOs getting $100M. if I tell you that I raised $100M for my activity tokens, will you believe me? from 1000 ICOs 990 never raise more than $100 and just 1 raises money and that's not $100M. you think what they want you to think.
Wise man once said, it's not about the money, it's about jumping girls and having fun. I believe him. half a lol.

People don't care about that much. As long as they can get huge amount of profits in return. They are okay with that. That's how it works mate. Many ICOs are just popping out of nowhere. I guess people are aware of them. They know they could be scam by them. But not all ICOs are scams. But i agree that most of them are scams. They will get money from investors and distribute tokens and landed an exchange. That's it. It's just another shitcoin landed an exchange. Im not against ICOs. But this is getting out of control. This thing should be regulate to protect people from being scammed by these scams ICOs.
All this situation, when a fairly decent part of the ICO is not designed for development after the implementation of the project of the incorporated idea, but for making money during the ICO, should, apparently, be controlled by the state. Because in this case, decentralization grows into anarchy, where it is possible to abuse the trust of the sources, which has signs of criminal punishable fraud. However, there is a fine line here, which you can not step over. The state should not directly indicate which project is necessary and which is not. The role of the state in this case should be to identify the team conducting the ICO and conduct a general check on the professional suitability for the project.

Many crypto projects are actually just doing the ICO to get some quick cash, and it never turns into anything.
There should be a good product\bussiness that already works. Most of ICOs don’t even have an Alpha version ready, and if you read their white papers, you find that the project isn’t even past the conceptualization phase.

Correct ico are never really worth it most of them simply raise millions and promise to list on exchanges , sometimes it does get listed but the price never increases because it's useless no coding is done and no developments are made so price doesn't tend to increase and no chance of getting listed on major exchange
