I've been trying to get the girls over at myfreecams to take bitcoins but it doesn't make sense to them.
They really should though, as they are always trying to figure out how to circumvent the system MFC has setup. xD

Good ol' vice.  It's funny how much the present structure of the internet is thanks to pornography.  That industry has always been on its toes, and always ready to embrace new commercial avenues the moment they are viable business models.  I have no doubt in my mind that they'll move to accept Bitcoin the moment they consider it safe to do so.

I think so too.

Was funny reading comments though on adult webmaster board - first reactions =) which reminded my own the very first time I heard about it, which quickly evaporated though once I took interest in learning more about technology behind bitcoin.

gfy.com  search for bitcoin, there are few threads buried from past few weeks in main fu$%ing around forum
(as been mentioned earlier in the thread, it's the largest adult webmaster board)

actually, did the search now, here's all bitcoin related threads on there
http://gfy.com/search.php?searchid=3817584
don't remember which one is more notable at the moment
looks like i've missed some threads there myself

edit: found good one (they all are especially for entertainment value Smiley )

It's a good idea, allowing ppl to spend money on porn over the internet in a simple and anonymous way is a clever idea

You are doing it wrong. You should try to buy coins from them. Then they'll be like "wtf, I need to get some of these coins asap."

Great domain name dude, though I guess it was the obvious choice. coincam.com could have worked too though.

The owner of the .xxx top level domain is planning his own micropayment system
Quote
Next year, ICM plans to introduce a proprietary micropayment system. This service, Lawley promises, will help blue-chip pornographers fight back against the proliferation of free and pirated smut online. “We’re going to do for adult what Apple (AAPL) did for the music business with the iTunes store,” he predicts.

I run http://www.btckink.com/. It took about half a day to code, and has paid for itself several times over.

The moral is, you don't need to wait for porn sites to start accepting Bitcoin — you can do it for them!

I noticed that too. It's a shame he isn't considering Bitcoin (at least not that we know of).

i still think getting churches to accept bitcoins is a better idea. nobody pays for porn any more

Perhaps charities too (no debate on whether churches are charities please).

Treat it like cash and we get round the issue of "know who your donors are".

Nice, but why 1-3 days? I assume that means it is manual, but 24 hours ought be more than enough right?

Showing current prices in btc would be cool.

The delay is on their end. It takes that long to transfer a subscription to someone else's account. Showing prices is a good idea.

sadly, some of the best porn is so fetishistic and fringe that two things happen

1. so few torrents are made that a single person can stop all of them.

2. that same person can make their content as expensive as they want, because they have a captive market.

The case for accepting bitcoins is very compelling:
  • no chargebacks
  • trully without borders - tap into new markets at no risk
  • almost instantaneous
  • respects customer privacy (this is a big selling point
  • can be automatically converted to USD via paysius or bit-pay

Bitchcoin FTW.
