There would have to be very high consumer confidence for bitcoin to take over from fiat but as more retailers offer bitcoin as an alternative over time that confidence will grow. It will be hard to replace fiat money and the traditional banking itself even with a revolutionary digital currency such as bitcoin. I believe traditional banking may adapt to the crypto world and will try to emulate crypto, but the crypto world will have a hard time taking banking system down.
