For anybody who has created their own digital currency and ran an airdrop, can I ask what value did you get from running an Airdrop? I guess of course it is a marketing exercise so would like to know if it was worth the effort and expense?

This is basically an open question asking how much people scammed others for. Fascinating.

Not your keys, not your coins!

I don't think they'll answer but I find some of them are more successful than the issuer of premined coins.
A good example is POS Token, it's value is high on exchanges and we don't know how much they airdropped and how much of that are they holding.

Never did a single ICO in my life, however, my guess is that free coins are worth nothing, so to transfer them to BTC/ETH or anything from top 10 cost more money to accomplish a transaction than you actually have coins. At this point we reach the true reason behind this- some would leave the airdrop tokens, while others would convert some of their ETH/BTC to the coin to get the money out, which will give more ETHERIUM to founders and will create additional volume. Though, I don't claim (neither think) that all airdrop coins are crap. That's just another way of attracting new users

Yes, in fact, all the coins earned by Airdrops are not worth anything. But we do believe that someday we will get millions for participation. Otherwise, why do we participate in them?

Omisego didn't scam anyone...
They just airdropped OMG tokens into longterm Ethereum holder's wallets.
So, don't move your Ethers just in case something like this happens again.
Don't even short it.

It is depend on many things. Dev, marketing, and community become the main part of the project. if the all this three element getting strong, it will added more value of airdrop coins. Just like, LTG and Ethereum blue (BLUE) right now.

The question is apt and seriously need to be looked into. They are giving out the airdrop to introduce their coin to the market for exchanging and trading but what is the value of what is being given as Airdrops? sometime it will worth 1 or 2 Dollars. This is not worth the time and effort.

Not all airdrops are worthless and cost more to exchange than they are worth. I received thirty POS tokens via an airdrop and current value is approximately $40.

A coin that is given out for free doesn't do any major movements in the charts because mostly everyone is trying to sell their coins. It's better to just invest in something.
