Thank you Xal0lex, for the update on this matter. I have received multiple requests from the members to provide my opinion on this and also to ask the moderators/admins to clarify the rules for the local community, especially if the community doesn't have their own board.
From your explanations, I can see that discussing bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies is allowed, but posts regarding
airdrops and
subscription campaigns are not permitted.
Yes, there should be no airdrop posts, whether with or without pictures. And you shouldn't post news about specific altcoins. This is because this forum is called "bitcointalk" after all, and there are special sections for more specific discussion of altcoins. When you have your own section, where there will be a special subsection for altcoins, it will be possible to discuss altcoins there. Also, there is no need to translate announcements of signature campaigns.
By the way, this applies not only to your thread, but also to other local threads located in this section.
Okay, this further clarifies that in our Local Thread (and all local threads), the following are not allowed:
No posts related to airdropsNo posts related to specific altcoinsNot allowed to post any translations (signature campaigns)These rules seem a bit harsh, especially when we don't have our own board. However, if these are the rules of the Local Thread, we will follow them.
Also, it seems like these rules have recently been enforced because we haven't seen such rules being enforced before this for years.
I was thinking that if there is one local thread, then everything can be discussed there (including specific altcoins and airdrops). But it turns out that's not the case. If I thought otherwise, I would have deleted all these posts myself.
Exactly if there's one local thread and you can only discuss bitcoin then what is the purpose of this section at all?
Other languages/locations.
In this case any thing posted in Other languages/locations section can posted else where. For example in this case all posts related to bitcoin should go under bitcoin section and all the altcoin posts should go under altcoin section.
This sub forum is for those languages that don't have a local board to have their own thread to discuss bitcoin in.
So, this implies that only posts related to
Bitcoin are allowed in the Local Languages section. It's surprising that this rule was in plain sight, yet neither the moderators nor the members paid attention to it before.
We definitely need to create a Topic in Meta for clarification.
Edit: I have created a topic in meta to get further clarification
Only Bitcoin related posts are allowed in Local Languages Section?
