Few days ago a friend asked me this questions. But i cannot understanding that how to i give him answer. At last i said him that, bitcoin is an online currency. Only this currency used in online marketplaces. It is not possible to use it in offline marketplace like offline currency.

But what is your best answer of this question?
Bitcoin is a digital currency in which you can't use without internet connection..Hoping there'll be a reloadable Bitcoin card someday which can be use even without internet connection.. Wink

Bitcoin atm card will be the solution for this problem. Banks and some businesses are now planning to make this come true. It will just work just like a credit card and debit card that people are used to.

I believe a paper wallet could be used for this. Usually on paper wallets you have printed address, amount of btc on it and private key which is hidden. However in order to be sure, you would need to check the address and for this you would need internet.

Paper wallet is good for storing and making your bitcoins safe but it can't be used for transacting since the blockchain network needs internet to operate. And there's no way to confirm transactions if you'll no use internet but if there will be sort of upgrade that everyone can use bitcoin through offline, I think should work on this tech and time will come will just bring our ledgers and pay them upfront by connecting or even by scanning qr codes.

Maybe all of you will be amazed because I say Yes. We can use it even offline. For example let's take this, we have cold wallet where we store bitcoins and we have to pay something that costs for example 10 bitcoin (we have this 10 bitcoin in wallet too, not more or less). Now what we do, we give private keys and etc to pay someone, that's all, we used it offline.
No way! That cannot work. You give private keys to pay someone. Do you have an idea how why private keys are called PRIVATE ?

If you ever give anyone that, then all your assets in that wallet is gone if the person totally have a negative mind. Also, even if you want to make use of the private keys, you will still need to load it in an online wallet before you can make use of the funds in it.

It's obviously never will can be, it's impossible to do. Until whenever Bitcoin is a currency that is clearly different from the offline currency of the characteristics and its natures, that is only in the internet world (must be online) must be connected with an internet connection. Anything done with bitcoin, never can't to do like as a offline currency that can be transacting without internet.

At present it's not possible to make an transaction with bitcoin same as that we do with the paper money even without any internet connectivity. Here nothing seems to be a complication, because now everywhere internet connectivity is found, which makes transaction with bitcoin same as paper money.

But we still have to consider that there are places that can't be reach by modernization especially remote areas.  It makes it hard for them to connect  to the world and adapt the modernization,  what more to try to connect to the crypto world.  Even if they know about bitcoin,  earning it will be hard for  them and it is possible for them to loss interest.

I think it's impossible Bitcoin rely in the internet, bitcoin cannot be created if theres no internet in the first place so how you planning to use bitcoin without internet. Bitcoin is a digital currency that we use in online market so there's not a chance that it can be use offline.

Due to the nature of business, it will not be possible to use it offline.

However it's for today. Maybe in future, why not? Technology goes to the moon day by day.

Bitcoin is fully based on online. Any transaction of bitcoin needs to be done online.  The crypto world is getting better. Bitcoin growth plays a main role in crypto  growth in the market. Bitcoin being an online currency is must check safer than other fiat's.  The wallets should kept so secured.

.What is Cloverdex platform?.

The concept of cryptocurrency is itself online only so it is not possible to use bitcoin like offline currency. Bitcoin accepted in offline for sure governments will not accept it and the changing rates not let bitcoin to be used as normal offline currency. The strength of bitcoin is it is future currency supported by technology and the whole world is going to accept and change as per technology so we have to think and vision about it.

I think it's really hard at the moment. Bitcoin is a cryptocurrency so we can't use it without internet. Beside Bitcoin is not too popular and its still has some disadvantages that why it's still not legalized worldwide so we just can be able to use it in some countries or online market. I think we need to wait much longer to be able to use it as a offline currency.

Bitcoin is fully based on online. Any transaction of bitcoin needs to be done online.
Do you even read through this thread before blindly posting something? It is actually possible to use Bitcoin in an offline manner, but these sort of transactions will fully be a trust based practice.

Paper wallets for example containing a private key giving access to 1BTC in funds, can be exchanged offline at any time, and that without actually using the network. In other words, it's somewhat of an off-chain transaction.

It's very simple to come up with that, but people always just assume that their logic is the correct one, where they completely discard all other aspects of how people can further utilize Bitcoin.

BSV is not the real Bcash. Bcash is the real Bcash.

Bitcoin is born 8 years back in the format of cryptocurrency as we aware that the bitcoin is the future of cryptocurrencies which is giving good returns and the purpose of using it online with the internet connection is must now if we think about offline currency is not going to solve the purpose of Bitcoin. So it is not possible to use bitcoin as offline currency.

I do not think Bitcoins can be used in an offline marketplace as an offline currency because its existence is anchored online in the digital world. Simply put, if you have no means to connect to the internet, you cannot use Bitcoins as an offline currency unless you have it converted to fiat thereby it becomes acceptable by all merchants worldwide. You have to understand that not everyone accepts Bitcoin yet as a form of payment; that should be your first consideration.

Ok I may be too late to chip in. What if we embrace NFC technology for the bitcoins. the say we create plastic coins that have extremely nearfield nfc electronic chips. the coins then can be pre-programmed with say 1 bitcoin (a private key with one BTC is written on the chip memory) I strongly believe that these chips can be used NEARLY OFFLINE because a system (or APP ) can be created to verify the token offline. Users of the token just need verify the authenticity of the token and the final enduser can redeem the token value online and render the token worthless. Its complex but BTC on its own is complex, yet it was done.

Bitcoin and just like other crypto currencies need internet connection to work and be used for any transactions we can do therefore bitcoin will not do any good offline. You are right that it can be used offline once converted but of course it is not bitcoin anymore but is fiat currencies. If we do greed for it to be used offline, I think it will need to be legalized for it and it will not be soon and will take time.

That's not possible not possible anyway, because obviously bitcoin now was being used for online only and not for offline. For now only fiat currency are those used for offline but not any digital or virtual currency.
