Is it possible to use bitcoin like offline currency?

offline currency up until now can not be replaced, although bitcoin is currently being used, but it has not been able to replace offline currency. maybe the next 5 or 10 years if bitcoin still survives.

There is no way that bitcoin or even any other coin which is there in the world of crypto currency might be able to replace any of the offline currency. It is because of the reason that offline currencies have their own importance. Bitcoin is a digital currency and we cannot actually use it as an offline currency. We really do need of an internet connection for dealing with bitcoin.

I don’t really think so that it will be possible for anyone of us to use bitcoin and that too as on offline currency. It is because of the reason that bitcoin is a digital currency and the most important thing which you need to have for dealing with all the crypto currencies is none other than that of an internet connection. There is no way that you can use them like that of other regular currencies.

You can try but at the moment it is not practical, you could pay for a coffee but you will need to wait for the confirmation and it is very likely that if you want a fast transaction you are going to need to pay a bigger fee than what you paid for the coffee.

At the moment this case is still impossible cause Bitcoin is not legalized all over the world yet so we can't find any offline place that accept Bitcoin for payment and the only way to use Bitcoin for payment in these places is exchanging Bitcoin into cash.

in my country Philippines there are small stores that accept bitcoin currency such as street food stores, mini store and load outlets. I am impressed with the development of coins.ph wallet because it can be used in many transactions just like you can pay for electric bill, tuition fee, remittance, etc.
so that all i can say it would still depend on its own country if the stores or markets accept the bitcoin as a payment.

Dependency table exist for a long time, many things in this world depends from other things. Bitcoin depends from internet, internet from electricity, electricity from power plant and so on. There is one important thing why we can`t use bitcoins in offline mode, if you use it like that tell me how will miner take that transaction and include it in next block? It must be online and it must run trough miners who confirm that transaction is valid, and like that he protects the network.

Lots of projects are already working on that. There has been some in the past, probably still existing but I do not know.
I know of Xapo and I do not know how that really faired for its users but they said they are stopping it soon. All the above, the likes of crypterium, centra and the rest are already coming up with cards that would be connected to your wallet and not just only make you spend bitcoins offline but other altcoins.

This is a question of future as for now it is not possible as its physical nature is not created until but still one we can use bitcoin in many ways and buy anything you want.

It can be used in many market places which are online. But in future it can happen that people will develop physical bitcoins and they will trade all around the word as a currency and bitcoin will become the only globally currency use all over the world this could happen one day but It will take time.

I don’t really think so that it will be possible for anyone of us to use bitcoin and that too as on offline currency. It is because of the reason that bitcoin is a digital currency and the most important thing which you need to have for dealing with all the crypto currencies is none other than that of an internet connection. There is no way that you can use them like that of other regular currencies.

I can see a lot of people have raised this point so I would not really need to reiterate, but I have to point out that everything is going digital even with fiats and most times we have to ask in most countries with high use of digital age, the last time they really made use of paper currency or offline currency as the case may be here.

It started gradually and like someone rightly said, I have held $100 in my wallet for a very long time without even spending. Sure, cryptocurrencies are digital and you need internet, but does that mean innovations won't come that would not require you to log in to your wallet all the time ?

I have seen the likes of crypterium, centra and some other like Javvy coming up with stuffs like this, I guess we just have to wait and see.

And as we send bitcoin, we need miners to make our transactions confirmed or else our payments that was sent to the market will not be confirmed. Bitcoin atm card will be the solution for this problem. Banks and some businesses are now planning to make this come true. It will just work just like a credit card and debit card that people are used to.

It would really be the solution. At least you will only have to load your wallet online or have your public address to accept payments and then make use of the card for any offline activity you want to achieve without having to login every time or making use of the exchanges to convert into fiats first. I am really looking forward to when most of the projects doing this will fair in real life usage.

i think its not possible because bitcoin is connected with internet and without internet, we can not use bitcoin. bitcoin is different than fiat, bitcoin don't have physical form and although there is any debit atm, we still need internet to use bitcoin. so i think we can only use bitcoin as online currency for now but i don't know if in future, if there is a way to make bitcoin like offline currency then we have opportunity to use bitcoin in offline too.

In this time I think it is not possible because offline mean local markets and in this day most of the people do not know about bitcoin and they will never accept bitcoin until they know the importance and reality of bitcoin. Im sorry my friend. BTC is designed for digital transactions. Read the whitepaper of satoshi to have some idea. Theres no such thing as offline crypto. They are made to transact online using computers and smartphones. This is how it works and this is one of the main purpose of BTC.
