But what is your best answer of this question?
Bitcoin is an online currency which cant work without a network or the internet which was the best answer to tell your friend but AFAIK there bitcoin debit cards like wirex and uquid(if at all these guys are still in business) will allow you to buy fiat in real time for use on these cards and then you will be able to do as you please with your online or offline shopping .

Quote
Is it possible to use bitcoin like offline currency?
Best answer should have been offline currencies are analogue like fiat and bitcoin being a digital currency cant work offline  Cheesy

I think this will not gonna happen as the bitcoin's purpose is to be used through online transactions that is why it is being called cryptocurrency along side with the other coins.
Yes I doubt that this thing can happen in the future, even for a P2P trade still that isn't enough. Transactions should be confirmed to the network with the help of miners and transactions can't be an instant like just sending it to someone without any confirmation. But if this is the case that many are looking for I doubt that this will be seen in the future, we can keep bitcoin offline but it's impossible to transact with it offline.

you can use bitcoin for offline payments, by searching for some websites that accept bitcoin payouts. maybe paying using bitcoin is not as usual. you can buy goods to people who know bitcoin. and try to make a payment with bitcoin. but bitcoin payments have a weakness that is the price that often change change. so the selling value also changes in a short time.

It is true indeed that bitcoin is a online currency but like other currency bitcoin can be used in offline transaction. However, it is rare to find a offline store that accept bitcoin as mode of payment because still bitcoin is not popular but as it get famous there will be a large adaption will occur.

Bitcoin is not possible to used like offline currencies, because bitcoin is decentralized and it was used only thru online. But it was possible to used in stores, online shop and services for now, moreover maybe bitcoin will become usable in the future if all stores and market have a device that accept bitcoin as payment.

I guess if that device improve possible that bitcoin were used as payment to other services like transportation, I'm looking forward that bitcoin are used as transportation payment for example in  train or taxi's.

It's a digital currency which means it works online. It is specifically made for any transactions and payments through the internet and offline currency already exists which is called fiat.

I think you can not use bitcoin like offline currency. In addition, we now move all to the online currency like internet banking and we are trying to cashless as soon as possible.

I think it can be possible, since we have coins loaded with Bitcoin circulating around.  The problem would be the honesty of the holder of the coin since he can actually move the coins right after he gave it to the merchant since he has access to the private key.  But if we talk about sending Bitcoin, i guess it is not advisable until the lightning network is implemented.

It seems to me that every user already has different opinions about the use of Bitcoin and its future. To date, I view Bitcoin as a means of payment, but as a real investment to increase its financial reserves, as well as to store its money.

The answer is it cannot be. Because there would be no one who will verify the transactions. The block chain technology is only possible through the internet.
The way the OP is putting it here is if we can make use of it without having to log in to our account all the time. It is definitely possible which is what most of these cards are really going to come into play and then we have to rely on making use of a third party in situations like this.

Everything is online and as long as anyone can make use of the cards connected to such wallet without having to login, then that gives us the ability to use it partially offline but of course not like the way we use fiats.

I dont think you can use it as an offline currency. what we can do is, exchange the bitcoin into fiat and use them off for any purchase we do. But as you said, bitcoin can be used to purchase anything online if merchants allow bitcoin payment. We have many merchants accept bitcoin. I wish, my country accept bitcoin and many shops, malls and etc accept bitcoin as mode of payment.

No because it uses internet connection to make the transaction successful. Transaction doesn't need a lot of data so loading a cheap promo for an internet is enough.

I also think a world without cash. Why to use bitcoin like offline currency? That is not necessary, moreover bitcoin is crypto it must be the online currency.

I think the main meaning of this question is not like what you thought. LOL. I think he want to know if Bitcoin can be used for payment like cash or not. Smiley). At the moment it's still impossible to use Bitcoin like cash cause it's not legalized worldwide yet so it's really hard to find any store or shop that accept Bitcoin for payment.

Bitcoin is a digital currency that use online through internet thats why it is impossible to use it offline. Maybe if government accept it and make it as a tangible currency like our money we can use it offline.

It's simply a big "NO". Bitcoin is virtual something which has no physical embodiment. Each transactions are registered on Blockchain over internet. So, it's impossible to use bitcoin offline.

There is surely no way at least for now which is why fiats will always still be able to find a way. However, if we are looking at it in the form of cash when you have to make payment directly with paper currency, then that may not be replaced, but in the case of ATM or POS transactions, this can evolve.

So many things can change with development and a time may come or which we are already seeing with wallet connected cards which can still make us use our cryptocurrencies without having to connect online all the time. I feel it is just a matter of time before we start seeing such.

But with only market it's very easy to find out the place that you can use Bitcoin directly for payment Smiley
For what I understand Btc has to be connected to the internet all the time to execute the sales and purchase orders. I may be mistaken when transferring the currency from one wallet to another, an office created at Blockchain which avoids fraud or duplication of stock, and this without an internet connection would be impossible.

One solution to this would be to use Btc as a debit card, because today in the world almost every store or enterprise you enter has a card machine.

apparently the government of many countries have not yet come up with. How can you withdraw taxes from users of crypto currency. Perhaps this is the nuance of the problem for the legalization of Bitcoin.
