what is the recommended minimum distance between 4gb gpu?  8gb gpu? (side distance)

and distance between floors?

All my rigs have 90 mm distance between GPUs, but that's because it's hot here in Australia and I don't want to spend extra money on cooling. And i always hang my GPUs vertically, helps them stay cooler

I also have at least 90 mm, but depends on which algo you're mining, lyra is heating WAY LESS than equihash, for example.

It is all about the ventilation you can receive that to the bitcoin miner. If you less amount of miner rig your home you does not need about distance you set in up in the location. Actually you does not need to set the mining rig with the components if you just need to check the with the splitted components as well.

I have distance between my GPU was 10 cm but when the weather is hot, I installed an additional fan which blows the heat between the GPU. This reduces the speed of my GPU fans at 30%. In the fall I remove the extra fan. My friend's water cooling and therefore, the distance between the GPU it 8 see

I made some experimants and figured out that 90mm is the best. Further increase of the distance (more than 90mm) has limited effect.

The point is that the air between the gpus is heated by the backplate of the next gpu and goes directly to the fans, which decreases the efficiency of the cooling system.

If you are limited in dimentions of the frame it you can leave it even 50mm, but you need to blow the hot air away. It is easy to do that by using a usual 400mm floor AC fan.

Besides, if you have a 90mm spacing, you can prefectly fit a 90mm fan, which will provide addidional supply of fresh air to the gpu fans.

On my one "pure" riser rig, the risers are spaced on 4" centers leaving appx. 2.5 inches (appx. 8 cm) of air gap between the cards (closer to 2" for the Aorus).

 I avoid cards with backplates, as the backplate has a noticeable negative effect on airflow to the next card (less of an issue on riser rigs though).

 There is no such thing as a "90mm" fan in common fan sizes, the sizing on common fans goes 80mm then 92mm then 120mm.

If you are living in a country with very hot weather I suggest 90mm or little bit more, I set my GPU fans facing up so I don't build them standing like random mining rigs out there so there is enough room for cooling

Aaargh, am I  the only one that have the Gpu horizzontaly placed ?

Why you guys prefer to have them vertically hanged ?
in a Tower Pc normally the gpus lie parallel to the ground.
So, the GPU fan is spinning effortlessy. No ?
Fan is flowing air to the high ground , thats where normally where the hot air goes.

I was thinking that only the commercial frame were made like that because it will be cheaper to ship and that normal DIY frame were like mine.

This arrangement of video cards is used so that the liquid that flows out of the thermal pads when heated does not fall on the motherboard and connectors.
This will not do much harm, but it is better to keep the connectors clean. Otherwise, it may affect the rmining of video cards, and some video cards may turn off.

I don't even care about building my mining rig in a stylish or good looking order like many, I just insert the risers and lay the GPUs on the table, that's all since I'm only using 4 graphic cards for mining right now, so they are marginally far away from each other

It is not right. There is no need to make a beautiful case, because it will not give additional megahashes. But any equipment works longer if it is correctly installed, the wires are neatly folded and the equipment is not afraid of accidental mechanical stress.
The mining farm is also easier to blow off dust and carry out a visual inspection.

I would use a minimum of 25cm of space from the backplate to the faceplate of the next GPU. In open air rigs you can use inexpensive box fans to improve convection and remove the hot air from around the GPU's, but adequate spacing minimizes conduction of infrared heat radiation emitting from the GPU's.

Basically I keep them as far away as possible from one another but the limiting factor here is the length of the USB riser cable. If the cables were longer I would space them further apart. Its easy making a longer mining frame however the issue is with the cables. If you got 4 GPUs its easy to space them apart for better cooling however when you got 6 its when it becomes a problem and you need to keep them together.

I tried to use longer USB cables however the longer the cable the more errors ive gotten. I think there is a limitation how long the cable can be before the signal becomes bad and causes error and freezing. Hence I kept my GPUs maybe 3-4 cm gap between them. SInce they are lower power didn't have any issues.
