Does someone know how to tune the cpu-affinity setting? I am not really sure how to use it  Roll Eyes

try start /abovenormal cpuminer-sse2.exe ...
"start /?" will help

Ahh, sorry, affinity is not priority. but "start" will help anyway

Each block is stacked on top of the previous one. Adding another block to the top makes all lower blocks more difficult to remove: there is more "weight" above each block. A transaction in a block 6 blocks deep (6 confirmations) will be very difficult to remove.

Still 3-4 years of mining. This is a coin for the long run.
Price was 0,09 - 0,1 when hash was 1.5 Mh/s.
Now price is 0.5 -0.7 when hash is 4.25 Mh/s.

You can better mine the coin than buy it, a lot cheaper. Everybody can mine the coin, thats it true power.

its not 24 cores, its 6 cores, 12 threads, per processor

So it better I run 2 instances -t 6 --cpu-affinity 0 and --cpu-affinity 1 ?

or just 1 with -t12 ?


PS:

This is what I don't understand:
If I use 1 instance -t 24 I get 480H/s cpu 100%

If i use -t 6 --cpu-affinity 0   I get 280H/s and cpu only at 25%.

Based on this result I expect 1120H/s as total result....but how can I achieve this ?

1 instance, 12 threads, one thread for each physical core, then open task manager, go to details, find the process and right click on it (you should be running cpuminer-aes-sse42.exe), then select set affinity, then make make sure every other thread is checked off, so for you 1 3 5 7 9 11 13 15 17 19 21 23 are checked off and 0 2 4 6 8 10 12 14 16 18 20 22 are NOT, you can also set the propriety to low, that will make the system more responsive and usable during mining, idk why im helping i wanna keep the hash rate low but whatever good luck

Unfortunately is not like you are saying.

If run 1 instance -t12 ..I go on details and affinity and select only cpu 0 (I've windows 10).

in this case the speed decrease to 20H/s per cpu and total cpu at 50%.


If I run another instance -t12 and I set affinity to cpu 1, reach 100% of total cpu usage but speed decrease at 10H/s per cpu

Resuming

-t24 produce 480H/s   CPU100%

-t12 Produce 240H/s CPU 50%

2 X -t12 produce 240H/s CPU100%

-t6 produce 240H/s CPU 25%

It could be that cpuminer is not showing correclty the total speed ? because there is no sense in these results.

Yes correct.
In addition to yours, I've 2 sockets, so i've node 0 and node 1
For each node I selected only 1,3,5,7,9,11 cpu

but nothing.

-t12 cpu affinity configured. Total speed 240H/s CPU 50%


PS:

Incredible  if I use this:
cpuminer-aes-sse42 -t 6 --cpu-affinity 1,3,5,7,9,11

I get 140H/s with only 5% of total cpu usage

that's funny my dual socket 771 doesn't have nodes, well it worked for me on 2 systems but idk, i tried using --cpu-affinity 1,3,5,7 on my worker and it only ran on the 1st thread, maby the command is wrong

i just got better results using --cpu-affinity AA on my server that translates into 101010 in hex, maby because u have 2 numa nodes u need to run 2 instances, for 6 cores try --cpu-affinity 2AA per cpu, oh and i forgot, make sure your using 6 identical memory sticks each processor has 3 memory channels

back to a dollar...
