Don't think so, they held a community vote and dev seemed to be open and honest for the entire duration of the coin. Saldo is really special and one of the few cryptonote coins with actual innovation, but it needed a fork like this to regain some traction and find implementation. It was extremely undervalued at 300-500sat per coin w/ only 10M supply, and dev had little reasources to work with only a 0,5 premine. But coin still managed to find many listings and 2 exchanges. Now it should see greater growth

Get your head out of the clouds.. 850k SLD was mined in the first 6 hours of its lifespan. If that isn't a massive premine I don't know what is.

That was just about tolerable with the previous block reward. Now you have a team of people with 33% of the entire coin for a lifetime.

Block time 20 seconds.. 3 blocks a minute. Do the math.
It is my understanding the first 1000 blocks had 800k soldo coins. Those 100 starter reward must have had lottery blocks implemented.

What I would like to know is, was there a pre-ann before the coin was launched like they have done with SLA or was it announced and insta mined in those 6 hours.

This is the disadvantage to not being around every single coin launch. It's hard to know what exactly went on.

ahhh I apologize I was mistaken. You hold a fair point then, ANN was posted Oct 29th and graph shows 31st, perhaps that was early announcement period but not sure.

All I'm doing is letting people know as it's not exactly clear to someone who just walks in here. For example it took me a while with a member above to make him understand the facts of this coin.

I have mined SLD so have not done nothing for the project.

I bought some Saldo at 1500sat and I apologized to DeanoGaffers for getting a bit too carried away with bias in evaluating what he wrote. He brings a valid concern and is not trying to attack the coin but simply have a discussion on the issue and push the dev to address it. The coin is already decently established and no one is arguing against the fact that it's in everybodies best interest to further and develop Saldo.

Dev, you have been open and genuine for the entire duration of the coin, and Saldo will find much greater success if you continue to do so and address concerns in an honest manner.

Emission of the first 1,000 blocks was around 850,000SDL. Do you or the dev team own any more than the 50,000 reserved for growth and development? If so, perhaps a redistribution of that will do good. Moving on from there, was this a ninja release or a preann, and how many miners were active during this period? Then it's also possible that a portion of the early wallets have been abandoned/lost, this can also be looked into.

So taking all that into consideration, do you believe the recent fork is the best path for the coin to go? If you can provide a response implying so, I'd respect that. But if the issue still presents substantial hinderance there are possibilities to address it, perhaps through implementing POS which would be an immense achievement from a CryptoNote coin. Saldo has great potential, please don't kill it by irrationally dismissing all criticism.

This was a ninja release. I was among the first mining it.. Everything was clear and fair.

I never used the actual wallet, just exchanges. However many on the telegram using the latest build are reporting their SLD was stolen.
