I watched some of the videos on the official channel. Very interesting but guys you need a much better microphone.

According to NIST and ECRYPT II, the cryptographic algorithms used in Bitcoin are expected to be strong until at least 2030. (After that, it will not be too difficult to transition to different algorithms.)

What is the status of this project?

You can follow the telegram. https://t.me/lamdenchat

Thank you so much.  Although there are many platform that are trying to be in the spotlight and dethrone etherium, lamden could be one of the contenders.

Well they have a very dedicated lead Dev, you can see how active he in in their Telegram group.  Also have a loyal group of HODLers battling against the FUD lol

This is running on dpos so how much we need to run a masternode?  Or did I miss understand it?

It's a nice project but very little interest. Hype is too low. Achievements .

Stuart doesn't have the eyepopping resume that a lot of people associate with an all-star, but it's starting to become clearer as time passes that this is a guy you don't want to be betting against.  This dude is def an all-star dev on the low and he's got a lot of great foresight with him as well.

The Cilantro Blockchain Explained

This will be the first in a series of articles outlining the features and functions of Lamden’s blockchain, Cilantro, which is scheduled to be released by the end of 2018. In this series we will offer an overview of each of the main parts of the blockchain, and offer insight into our thought process and development goals behind each component.

At a base level, the Cilantro Blockchain works on a Delegated Proof of Stake (DPoS) system. Additionally, in order to allow a more secure and streamlined process, the delegates will have oversight from Masternodes. This combination between DPoS and Masternodes overcomes the current weaknesses of purely DPoS systems by helping to reduce the risk of network manipulation by way of collusion.

Masternodes:
Cilantro’s Masternodes will have little to no rewards, ensuring those running the nodes are those who prefer the welfare of the validation system over personal payouts. This also puts them in the best position to confirm fair-play from the witnesses and delegates. Masternodes have oversight over the delegates, allowing them to root out collusion between delegates and witnesses. The masternodes serve as a storage mechanism for the entire blockchain, and will continue updating the chain in real time using the data provided by the delegates and witnesses.

Delegates:
The delegates of the Cilantro chain perform consensus, package new blocks, and hold the current state of the network. As new transactions come in, they are written in a scratch database, a mini-ledger for performing consensus on current transactions. The set-up is relatively simple, requiring just a stable internet connection.

Witnesses:
The witnesses make up the pool of potential delegates and elect the current delegates through voting. The Cilantro blockchain has free transactions using a unique ‘stamp book’ model. Cilantro participants can either make stamps with a relatively quick PoW process, or use Tau tokens to purchase stamps. Stamps can then be staked in a ‘stamp book,’ which ensures that only high-speed stamp transactions are processed through this alternate channel in the blockchain. The witnesses validate these PoWs and stamps to ensure that transactions are valid before sending them on to the Delegates.

Conclusion:
The Cilantro Blockchain will act as the foundation upon which all of Lamden’s development tools operate. Cilantro is already in alpha and open for anyone to test here. The chain will act as the intermediary chain between all blockchains, including those created using the Lamden suite. It can also be replicated and deployed through Saffron by any business for their own private chain.

guys, I am very interested in running a masternode, do you have any information about how many coins is needed for a running one of masternode and when do you plan to run this feature. Probably it should be right after a mainnet launch?

To be masternode you need 100,000 tau.

Actually it is not determined and finalized yet.

Stu said once 100k but it is not 100% sure. They 're still finalizing the economic model.

This thread is not very populated. What's the development progress so far?

The development has been going faster than expected.

- New website and more developers in team (some of them are not on the new website, because they are extern).
- They successfully completed Atomic Swaps on a number of different currencies and still ongoing (See Lamden Dev Update 02/23/2018).
- Testnet is up and running on testnet.lamden.io (See Lamden Dev Update 03/02/2018).
- They are making a start with marketing.
- Release of specifications for the Lamden governance model (Click here).

Upcoming:
New whitepaper (2 months from now), roadmap (because of delivering) and economic model.
Next Milestone is the Alpha Launch of LamDex (platform for atomic swaps).

The purpose of the Tau token "is a simple token that every chain can interact with. This allows users to use a single agnostic type of token to interact with any chain on the network." https://lamden.io/faq/
But Clove (one of Lamden's development tools) claims to "make atomic swaps between blockchains easy" for Bitcoin-based and Ethereum-based chains. So why is the Tau token needed if Clove will make atomic swaps possible? Here https://lamden.io/about-token/ they explain that Tau will facilitate Lamden's decentralized atomic swap network, but if the atomic swaps are working then there is no need for an intermediary token. It defeats the whole purpose of atomic swaps.

Can one of the Tau devs explain this more?
