ETH and BTC have no match. It's like a different part of the body. In the last six months, Bitcoin has changed the whole history and made it to the new high point. but ETH is not have big moment and daily grow very slowly. bitcoin supply again ETH is very low. all forex and many exchange platform trade bitcoin with high volume. bitcoin Can go to any extent. ETH GROW but this take very long time. ETH future depend on ico token.

If ETH can really take off as a platform for decentralized apps, that is if we get some great disruptive apps built on top of Ethereum that everyone wants to use. Could it be tokenisation of a lot of asset bases? Either way as long as the ETH community remains strong and keeps improving the eco-system I think some great things will come of it (and therefore hopefully some good gains for ETH)

ETH actually grew 20-30x this year alone, it might be that the increase was too fast for the valuation of the coin. The main reason people invested in Ethereum was for the ICOs and smart contracts. But I think people are finding less usage for smart contracts than they once thought, and the price should drop and correct itself. I estimate maybe $200 Ethereum would be a good price, it's a young coin, having its value so close to BTC just doesn't make any sense. Also there was the incident known as the "Flippening" which people thought were going to happen in July this year. It was when BTC was at the lowest market share level, dropping down to around 38%, and ETH rose to around 34%. So they were basically neck and neck in marketshare. People were starting to think that BTC was inferior and lost its value compared to Ethereum so people were trading BTC for ETH in a panic. However the market once again realized its mistake, and figured that, hey ETH is a very young coin that just came out, it has not proven its value yet, and so the market turned around to what it is now. I don't think ETH will ever surpass BTC. It is just the king of the throne. It's the gold of the cryptocurrency. If you have Bitcoin, you can trade it for thousands of any other coin. It has the most history with Satoshi Nakamoto shrouded in mystery creating it, being used on drug websites, having the most hashing power, and so on. Bitcoin is king. Bitcoin is my favorite coin. |

I think in present condition it is not good to compare with Bitcoin, Bitcoin already touched the moon with high price, when it comes it ETH the value of ETH increased a lot in the year 2017. I think there is chance that price of ETH will increase in the coming year.

in my own speculation, ETH can't beat the crpytocurrency price of BTC, we need more how many years or decades to chase the price of BTC, however i prefer to use ETH, because its only a small amount to loss if it crashing or dump the price, while the BTC will cost a big amount if it crashing or dump the amount of price.

Eth has become really powerful these days because a lot of emerging ICOs have been using eth as their basis. But even with that, I dont think it would be as powerful as bitcoin and match it in a decade. Yes its true that bitcoin has a very volatile price, but so is ethereum. With lots of shitcoins born from ethereum, this could also be bad for eth. My point here is if eth rises, so is bitcoin. And if bitcoin falls, same with eth. So I dont see any matching up for these two.

It could in time but for now, I don't think Ethereum can match Bitcoin yet. It is still too hard to tell, although it would be very possible. Most especially now that Ethereum is becoming more popular too and is becoming more used than those other cryptocurrencies.

As of now I see the difference between the cryptocurrency it is not match to each other, ethereum now behind with the btc, because btc now unreachable price which is rapidly going compare to ETH. But no one knows the prediction of ethereum most emerging ICO's now using ethereum who knows it will rise up the price like what bitcoin did. We hope both continued more profitable with us.

The difference is to huge and ETH is little bit under dog interms of comparing it with btc since we all see that the price of the btc is been stretch up hardly and ETH has been dump badly. But I think we shouldn't compare this two alts since it's better to have this two coins around since ETH got so huge potential and maybe we can see it pump up harder in future comes.

ETH is not a currency and it is not even designed to be traded like this. it is a token that should only be used in smart contracts not for anything else. 2. a huge supply. the nearly 100 million coins is not going to let the price go up at all. 3. no cap. or in other words unlimited supply |

But whatever the case Bitcoin will always be the mother of the cryptoworld no matter what happens. However, Ethereums feature smart contract is revolutionary and has helped other altcoins to be created.

Agreed, ethereum is valuable because of the ico projects, as we can see, many counties ban ICO and the ico market is cold recently, a lot of ico project turn out to be low value than expected. |
