Yes,why not as long as you buy potential altcoins which can give you big profit in the future. They are may be cheap  for now but if the market come to it's normal cycle the coins you are holding will give you good profit. Also, altcoin is much cheaper than bitcoin which makes it affordable to buy.

Whether or not Bitcoin is on an uptrend direction or on a downtrend direction, I always buy altcoins. This is what I do, I buy and sell altcoins, hoping that in the process more wealth are being made and acquired. Everything has been doing smoothly with me on this. It is sad thought that right now, everything is in red and it seems there is no more uptrend. The good thing about this is that those who want to buy can have a very wide array of choices because the prices are very low.
