Why are you guys entering into this blockchain space? DADI has been through several business pivots it seems, from content and digital agency, to a data agency, to a technology agency (CMS / CRM / general online ad stuff) and now with an added blockchain layer to what you already did. Why is this time around going to be a lasting success when it previously never did?

It seems that you are basically adding blockchain to what you did before and now proudly you're telling everyone that you "already have a working product". Add a blockchain layer to a local food shop and boom they are already ahead of a lot of (in the future) worthless ICOs.

Allow for us to be a bit skeptical. Since it's been apparent that lots of companies are now heading into the blockchain space all of a sudden seeking a quick buck for themselves (founders) and their partners. It's time for us all to be even more skeptical and critical of the numerous token sales.

Thanks for the note stuffstuff,

We sold our last business - Airlock, a digital agency - to Publicis in 2011, the second largest media agency in the world.

During our time at Airlock we also developed Symphony CMS, which had an active community of c.20k contributors.

We setup DADI some time after the sale of Airlock, in 2013. DADI has been a technology company since day #1, and we've been consistently iterating ever since. Our original web service was data focused and we've built out from there. There are currently some 200 brands using the platform.

This represents the natural evolution of that success.

The products that we have in production today are our core web services. These are running in a containerized setup within traditonal cloud platforms in the main, but it's important to note that we also have a working prototype for the distributed network live, which is powering the content layer for one of our current customers.

I get where you're coming from with the skeptical line of questioning, and we take the same view about 99% of the crowdfunding events out there. But that's not what we’re about.

We're being completely transparent about what the funds we are raising will be used for. Furthermore the decision to make our technology available through the decentralized web makes perfect sense: currently web services are provided by a handful of massive tech companies who control everything – the market, data, technology availability etc. And their platforms are hugely complicated and very difficult to scale.

We're creating an open model that bypasses these companies and puts power back into the hands of the end users, and surely that can only be a good thing.

I've just published the first of our biquarterly status reports on Medium. There's a lot happening both in terms of network dev and within our core web services, and a world of exciting developments on the horizon.

You can read the full report here: https://medium.com/@daditech/dadi-status-report-november-2017-149ba8b01418

Thanks for the questions, coinporch.

It's not entirely like SiaCoin, though there are some similarities. SiaCoin is more of a decentralized S3, focusing on secure distributed storage. What we're building is a decentralized cloud computing network, tailored specifically to web services. We have a number of web services already built and being used in production on some pretty big sites, see https://dadi.cloud/en/#services for more information on them.

I think there are a number of reasons you should invest in our project, but it really depends on what the project means to you. As an engineer, I love the idea of turning our global device pool from it's current dormant state into a living and breathing network powering all the services around us. I think it's mad that we have so many devices all over the world, doing next to nothing, and yet still we stockpile servers in datacentres and use them to host our services.

As an investor though, that might not be why you want to invest, instead you might be looking to see if a project is a legitimate organisation or company (check – https://dadi.cloud/en/due-diligence), has a decent whitepaper that properly explains the technology behind the idea (check – http://dadi.link/iW), has an established team with relevant experience (check – https://dadi.cloud/en/team), has a realistic roadmap (check – https://dadi.cloud/en/roadmap), and perhaps even a track record of successful product delivery (check – https://dadi.tech/en).

I hope this answers your questions. Just let me know if there is anything else you'd like to know.

Adam

Hi Sxafir,

We don't have an open social bounty as we want to avoid any semblance of shilling. Maintaining the integrity of our proposition is very important to us as a founding team.

However we are open to individual discussions with potential partners, and have a dedicated token pool set aside for meaningful engagements. So if you think you can help, please drop me a PM.

Note that individuals are obviously free to use their referral codes in social and other spaces. A guide can be found here: https://dadi.cloud/en/referral-program

Hi imjustsayintho,

"SONM is a universal fog blockchain based supercomputer. It is an ethereum based network of globally distributed computational power. SONM project’s main purpose is to provide safe, cost efficient, means for executing general purpose computing workloads that can range from game servers all the way up to complex calculations of various forms of scientific research, using a free decentralized marketplace."

SONM is a general purpose computing cloud, whereby you can rent machine resource to execute specific tasks. Their focus appears to be on functionality traditionally served by super computer clusters, such as scientific projects, neural networks and rendering. However they do mention site hosting as a potential use case, albeit with a significant lack of clarity and with big barriers to adoption such as a lack of ability to map in traditional top level domains, instead falling back to a service- specific address layer:

"In the address bar the service may look like name, site.sonm or probably just %name%.sonm (which would be the name of the service that finds a hidden node using the locator and loads the website)."

Our focus is on the provision of clearly defined interlinked web services (See https://dadi.tech/, many of which are already in market and proven at scale. In this and other respects we're significantly ahead of already-ICO'd projects like SONM.
