Hey guys, I received Google glass recently and I was thinking of selling it for bitcoins.

Any idea how I could do that in a way that is secure for both parties?

Best,

Use a trusted escrow.  You could also meet the buyer in person.

Mine bitcoins with you mind!  Play poker at Seals with Clubs!  Now with mixed games, stud games, and multiple variants of OFC!  These games are not offered on any other bitcoin poker site!  Sign up with me, PeterB, as your referral and I can help you with eBooks, strategy and more!  PM me for more details.

Unless you have some serious rep, I think the best way to go would be a trusted escrow.

You might have better luck if you post pictures of the unit.

It helps to stop scammers a bit however trust only those who are rated with huge amounts of rep and from trustworthy members.

I was thinking this would be the best place to actually sell it: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=51.0

I was just curious on the best way to make the transaction secure before i posted on there - it seems escrow is best.

Or the buyer can go first. Though the amount of your current rep would be a problem.

Yes, definitely escrow. It's a somewhat risky situation otherwise. And the cost of escrow, vs. the security of it, makes it well worth going for.

There are two types of people that argue against trusted escrow... scammers and asshats.

If you're neither of those, you should have no problem making a transaction via escrow Smiley

Average time between signing on to bitcointalk: Two weeks. Please don't expect responses any faster than that!

That's a funny statement you make considering your auction says

Hey all,

I've received 30 Avalon ASIC chips, and will be auctioning off four of them here.

These chips are not functional bitcoin miners. This auction is intended for developers seeking chips to test their designs with.

Terms:
I reserve the right to refuse any bid, or cancel the auction at any point before payment is made.
People trust me -- I've never used escrow before and am not going to start now.
Auction ends on Sunday, June 10th at 8:55 PM PST
If a bid is placed in the last 5 minutes of the auction, extend the auction duration by 2 minutes. (can occur repeatedly)

Bidding starts at 0BTC -- Please bid in 0.2BTC minimum increments.

Happy bidding!

--Garrett

Just an observation, for the record I do NOT think Garrett is a scammer.
