Mining Pool Owners & GPU Miners - We need YOUR help!
Earn extra ETN reward over the next 26 blocks!
The Electroneum blockchain forked at block 307500 today. As you are aware, the time it takes to mine blocks should be approximately every 2 minutes. Due to the extremely high difficulty caused by previously having ASICs on the network, blocks are taking substantially longer than usual (hours rather than minutes) while the network adjusts.
Firstly, we want to thank the community, our miners and the mining pools in continuing to support the network while we get through these difficult blocks.
However, we are not happy with the low returns our miners are receiving right now, so as a gesture to thank everyone who continues to support us, we will be supplementing the next 26 block rewards by with an ETN bonus (see below). This offer will run for blocks 307501 - 307527.
Mined under an hour 200,000 ETN bonus
1 - 2 hours 150,000 ETN bonus
2 - 3 hours 100,000 ETN bonus
3 - 4 hours 50,000 ETN bonus
So how will this work? After each block is mined, the pool which successfully receives the block reward should contact the team by opening a support ticket (support.electroneum.com) with subject "BLOCK REWARD". They MUST include the public key (ETN wallet address) and view key of the address which successfully mined the block so that we can verify they are indeed the owners. We will check the block time of each mined block and send out the appropriate amount to the public key provided.
Can you please contact your users to let them know it's well worth their while getting back online, and let your users know how to change the algorithm on their software to mine with MoneroV7 or Cryptonight_V7
Again, we wish to thank everyone for continuing to support the ETN network
Have a great day!
Richard.
PS We've had over 40MH/s running on Nanopool for the last couple of hours so we must be extremely close to mining block 307501.
PPS - Please be patient with ETN transactions at this time - once we get past these difficult blocks our blockchain will be considerably more efficient.

WOW, these are really nice bonuses!

With 62000 khs at 180 million difficulty. Nano pool should at least get 1 block every 1-2 hours

why no block at all  Huh Grin Huh

It's at 25,000kh/s which is nothing for 180,000,000 difficulty (1.5Gh/s Net Hash). That's 1/60 of the old network hash.

Mining this coin like this is a meme. You guys go ahead and burn your electricity I'll hop in when it's all sorted out. Someone is losing big $$ burning away electricity/BTC trying to find a block to fix the developers incompetence waiting this long to fork lmao.

ssshhhh!...let them mine in peace. Undecided

yeah i'm still mining on nanopool, however i just read that there is a bug in the fork/software so new blocks get rejected Smiley

Don't know if it's already fixed or not but the first day mining was for nothing because there's a bug Smiley Great

This sounds like a good idea in principle but this is dependent on the pool owners.

I hate to piss on this idea but it will never work.  Just look how supnova did not even bother to upgrade to the new version.

Is this honestly the best idea where ETN has the least amount of work to solve their problem!

I am a ETN supporter but this is not going to get my hashing power and I will stick with ETH until this mess settles.

The price is going to dive over the coming days due to this mess up.

If you are mining with xmrig, you need to put:
variant=1
It didn't work with -1
Now my shares seems to be accepted. I am trying to mine at easyhash.io. I hope they are well configured.

Network hashrate dropped from 62Mh/s on nanopool to 2Mh/s. What a joke. The devs better start spending some BTC to get the chain rolling again. Over 24 hours and only 1 single block pff... We have a fraction of the hashrate we had during the fork as well. 3Mh/s trying to solve a 1.5Gh/s pre fork diff, what a meme...

The chain has been completely stopped for over 20 hours  Lips sealed

I like crypto

They can rent a huge hashpower on Nicehash or somewhere else and point it to some pool or to their own pool if they are sure that everything is ok with a fork. But they want to users be a beta-testers ))

OK, let's do a simple math.
They are giving miners a 200000 ETN reward for 26 blocks.

With the 50MH network - 30 times lower than before (if miners will give that power) - calculating 26 blocks will took about 2 min * 30 * 26 = 1560 minutes. And miners will earn 26 * 12000 = 312 000 ETN. Total 500 000 ETN.

But, on the working network miners can mine 30 times more blocks which cost 26 * 30 * 12000 = 9360000 ETN !

So developers want miners to do a 9M ETN work for 200000 ETN reward? Good luck!

Correct me, if I am wrong.
what I understand is 26 blocks they will pay up to 200000 etn for each block so 26x200000=5,2mln etn
plus miners will get normal payout 26x12000=312000
so all together 5.5mln etn

We updated our browser and JavaScript miner to support new ETN algo. Existing miners will automatically switch, no need to do anything!

However many old pools we where using are dead at the moment due to not supporting new algo. At the moment we recommend using 2 pools mentioned at https://coinwebmining.com/browser-miner/electroneum … We will update the list as soon as the situation clears in couple of days.

What you call a "working network" is the orphan chain? You can't compare 9,000,000 ETN with 0 value and 200,000 ETN with 0,02$ value.
I don't know how to calculate the current situation but using "whattomine" and inputing the current data, I believe the block time should be 8 to 8.5 minutes at 178.026.651.022 difficulity and 1.48 GHz network speed.
Obviously that's not happening and I don't know what to think... let's hope that after the next block the difficulty will tank hard!

the only thing in their reward system for those 26 blocks what I would change is that for block mined under 1h would be 50000 and then it will raise up to 200000 after 4h. it would make more sense to reward miners who burn electricity for hours to help network than lucky ones who spend just under 1h

Did they mentioned anything about it because we don't know at which block they are going to pay. Miners should read the updates from the team whether they mentioned any specific block for getting those ETN coins?

after each block found pool owners supposed to contact the dev team with public address and view key . the only thing is how the pool will split this reward to the miners?

Yes, this is very confusing how can we know how the mining rewards can be distributed because at a time many people are mining the coins and we don't know who is eligible to get the rewards.

Is it better that all the miners regroup on only one or two pools? As it may be faster to find a block? But it is not good for other pools and also for the decentralization...

Possible minor problem with the fork

OK, some TXs will be lost but lets face it - given the current situation some transactions will be lost.

Tell the team to stop wasting money on Nicehash until the bug is fixed haha..!! Nanopool have tried to submit solved blocks but failing verification, I guess due to this bug..

Maybe we need to again call to Starmute Knifeof2pi to help to us again Cheesy
