How do you increase your gwei on MEW beyond the 100 Gwei if you wanted to, seen a few online articles but doesn't seem to work. has anyone ever tried using a gwei more than the 100 available in MEW, without using any other hardware or plugin

   I think myetherwallet is about the most popular web-based wallet. If you are into cryptocurrency, you must have come across it one way or the other. Its a pretty decent wallet and is easy to use. But as with every other web-based wallet, it comes with the risk of being hacked. So you have exercise extreme when using it to avoid having your funds being stolen.

If you want to hold ETH coins in your wallet than it is better to use Ethereum Wallet. It is more functional and has more possibilities comparing to MyEtherwallet. For other currencies I prefer Coinomi.

Myetherwallet is a very good wallet.

But it is not like other online wallets or exchanges that hold you wallets or your money for you. Myetherwallet is just an online interface that you can use to manage you wallet. It is entirely client-side. Nothing ever goes to the myetherwallet server.

The interface is somewhat confusing for newbies though. But you can understand it pretty quickly.

I am using myetherwallet and I am satisfied on its service.  I learn quickly how to use it and I find it user-friendly.  Even it has the tendency to be hacked, I just make sure to secure my private keys, password, jason files and my url.  I only use my private laptop when I open my wallet to ensure the security of my wallet.  I guess, myetherwallet user grows and on its way to be the most popular web-based wallet.

If you are careful, observe security, regularly check your computer by anti-virus, then the use of MEW is completely safe. I use it and I can say that I like it more than software wallets.

I do! I believe it is the most popular and trusted wallet out there. Most of the ICO's/projects require myetherwallet as their course of payment for bounties because it has been proven to be safe and effective. So I would actually recommend it.

Myetherwallet is the most popular wallet I know that supports ERC20 token. If you are joining a bounty you need to have this type of wallet as bounty mosty created in Ethereum platform.
Take extra careful in checking your funds as many were victims of phishing. Always secure your private key and don't trust someone.

First time user of myetherwallet. It's cool because you don't use wallet to put your money, but a little bit worried on the safety of the access. Nowadays hackers find new ways to access our wallet. I'm planning to buy Trezor to add extra security on my wallet. But again the idea of no hardware wallet seem contradict to my original purpose of no having hardware wallet.
