Not every ICO is scam, but one might be falling Victim if care is not properly taken.
After researching a total of 1,450 ICOs, The Wall Street Journal (WSJ) found that more than one-fifth of them show signs of being a scam. For the record, this means there are at least 271 cryptocurrency startups that are likely fraudulent.
The study indicates that at least 124 ICOs faked or concealed team members, 111 had plagiarized white papers, 48 lacked a functioning website, and 25 guaranteed definite return on investment (something SEC explicitly forbids).
As per WSJ, while many of these ICOs have shut down, some continue to raise money from unsuspecting investors.

You can get more facts here: https://thenextweb.com/hardfork/2018/05/18/one-in-every-five-ico-is-phoney-wsj-study-finds/

I think that there are a lot of ICO that turn out to be a scam, but there are normal projects too. Therefore, I do not dare say that all this is a scam.

I wonder why you mentioned this project. Yes, indeed, today fraudulent projects are much more than last year. But still less than 90%. Perhaps you are not lucky, and you hit them. I think this will not always be ...

it's obviously not the case that each ICO out there is a trick, yet the larger part of them don't give any critical item or benefit and they're simply hoping to make a speedy buck. There are a couple of ventures out there anyway that do have an arrangement and acutally put the cash they have brought up in great utilize. That is the dubious piece of ICO's.. they are not managed and thusly anybody can join, actually any individual who has no understanding about contributing, such huge numbers of wind up getting rekt and losing their cash. It's one reason why China chose to boycott ICO's alltogether, individuals were getting an excessive amount of misled and it just seemed well and good to stop assist extension of the issue. Direction isn't awful all things considered, as long as it gives advancement enough air to breath.

Of course not. If all ICOs were scams there wouldn’t be any hype and any interest in them. There are many good projects which are really aiming to improve our lives.

Not every, my esitiamtion:
If we take in to consideration those who hace raised some funds, i think that 50% are scams.
40 % is very unprofessional and inexperienced in mangement.
5% are experienced and are just takeing advantage of the situaion.
5% are genuine icos which will suceed.

Everybody keeps on saying scam scam scam for all of these ICO's. 90% of them are crap, yes. BUT there is the 10% of them, like vector, who are absolutely not scams. They are good projects that will really help the crypto community grow and its not fair to call an ICO a scam until you have actually researched it and you are sure it is a scam.

Just my two satoshis...
Yes, I know there are some ICOs that are fraudulent, trying to enter with hype to make fast money. and that can no longer be hidden, it has become public news, but some are really good projects that contribute to innovative ideas and interesting solutions. so stop saying all ICOs are fraudulent!

Not all the ICO are scam, mostly of the ICO do success because of the bounty they are performing, and yes some of it is just a scam and do not continue there project, because they do not meet the expected amount to support there project.

I really hope that not all ICO is a scam. I believe that there are ICOs that are real. To avoid being scammed by other ICOs, you should search the reviews and background of the project.

All ICO projects have risky investment, It is difficult to judge where the scam project or not. Many projects have been listed on the exchange but have failed to reduce the value of the coin, which is also a risk. Therefore, the project must be carefully considered to minimize the risk.

Not all are scams but rather there are a few. Simply be savvy in picking ICOs to join and in the event that you are sufficiently fortunate to be a piece of authentic ICOs then bravo. You can look into their undertaking and examine the points of interest to check whether there are contacts of scams. More often than not, you will see it by checking their white paper. It's about the impulses to. In the event that they are genuine, simply make a point to take after their tenets and complete the errands they relegate you.

Even you are a newbie you have a good observation and I totally agree with your assessment, this has become a bane in the cryptocurrency, too many fake and failed ICO that fails to deliver the goods and some of them just die because of lack of community support, I wish there are regulations in the ICO.
