CEDEX utilizes the Ethereum blockchain for its solution. In addition to the underlying distributed ledger, Ethereum incorporates Turing-complete programming languages on the protocol-layer to realize smart contract capabilities. Smart contracts are, “orchestration and choreography protocols that facilitate, verify and enact with computing means a negotiated agreement between consenting parties”. The latter establish binding agreements and deploy applications using such smart contracts to enable certain services and functionalities, e.g., a P2P-trading platform.

Can you tell us how the value of diamonds will be estimated with the help of tokenization?

The DEX values the diamonds, the Dtokens that represent diamonds hold the information about the GIA certificate this information is fed into the Dex and the price is calculated, to put it simply. It's a lot more complicated in the long version, of course.

Diamonds are already bought and sold, but the current system is more B2B, and at the personal level very in favor of the buyer only. The Cedex system makes diamonds fungible, which changes everything as far as it being a true asset in the market.
